SPENCE, Ruth Lillian (nee BULL)   -  Ruth Lillian Spence (nee Bull) passed away peacefully, at her home, surrounded by family, in Welland, Ontario, on May 6, 2022, at the age of 96.

Beloved wife for 57 years of the late Clarence Spence; loving mother of Brian (Darleen), Linda (David) Gifford, Tammy Hodgins and Shaun Cooke.

Grandmother of Lisa (Brad) Klinck, Susan (Dwyane) Mintz, Shawn Gifford and Andrew (Ashley) Gifford.

Great-grandmother of Caleb, Sarah and Joshua Klinck, Georgia Gifford and Elizabeth Gifford.

Survived by one brother, Herb; sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by brothers, Earl, Archie, Weldon and Harold Bull. Ruth loved her Lord, her family and her church. She was an active member of the Richmond Hill Free Methodist Church for over 30 years. Ruth and Clarence opened their home to dozens of foster children over the years.

Though Ruth was quiet, she was always a strong and vocal advocate for all of her "kids".

Friends and family are invited to a visitation at the Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Hwy. 7, Woodbridge, where the family will receive guests on Wednesday, May 11th from 2-4, 6-8 p.m., and Thursday, May 12th from 1-2 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 12th at 2 p.m. in the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society, the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or a charity of one's choice.
