Saffrey LindaSAFFREY, Linda Marie (nee WILSON)   -  Linda Marie Saffrey passed away peacefully, on Monday, August 1, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, in her 72nd year.

Linda was born on June 20, 1951 in Parry Sound, Ontario to the late Ben and Fern Wilson.

Lovingly remembered by her husband of 33 years, Eric; her children, Kevin Wilson (Melanie) and Keirra Saffrey; grandchildren, Ben and Elsie; siblings, the late Steve Wilson (Karen), the late Joe Wilson, Mary Mayoros (Bill), Kathy Dolan (Paul), Mike Wilson (Deborah), Shirley Mailloux (John), Bob Wilson (Ede); in-laws, Debbie Northway (Chris), Ed Saffrey (Deb), Owen Saffrey (Leslie); many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces; family; friends; and colleagues.

Predeceased by her parents-in-law, Fred and Doris Saffrey. Linda was an accomplished artist and an avid sewer, creating beautiful banners.

She was a loving spouse, mother, grandmother, big sister, aunt, friend and was looked up to by all. She was determined, strong willed, fun loving, resourceful and caring. She loved kayaking and was an avid Blue Jays fan.

She was ordained in 1992 and served the United Church of Canada in many capacities and multiple congregations over the course of her ministry.

She led many children's summer bible camps. Linda was admired and respected by her peers.

Cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Stephen's on the Hill United Church, Sudbury, on Saturday, August 13th at 2 p.m. Friends may call after 1 p.m. on Saturday.  Burial will take place at a date to be determined at the Chapman Cemetery in Magnetawan.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Linda's memory to the Health Sciences North Oncology Unit, Northern Cancer Foundation or Charity of Your Choice.
