MACKAY, Kathrin Ute "Kathy" (nee BECKER) - Kathy died peacefully, at home, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, in her 81st year.
She is loved deeply by her husband of 57 years, Gordon; and their 2 children, Ian (Lianne) and Susan (Sarinah).
Her grandchildren, Stephanie, Ryan and Colin will cherish the memory of her as their extraordinary grandma.
She will be deeply missed by other extended family members and friends in Canada and the USA.
Born in Germany to parents, Helmut and Beatrice Becker, Kathy came to Canada when she was 12 years old with her mother and step-father, George Baenge.
She is survived by her sister, Elke (Jim) Stothers, and will be remembered with love and respect by her nieces and nephews. Kathy and Gordon raised their family in Toronto.
Following Kathy's retirement from Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics, a division of Johnson and Johnson, she and Gordon moved to Grand Bend, and then Collingwood to be closer to family.
As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to a charity of choice may be made in Kathy's memory.
