RUSSELL, Harold Joseph - February 24, 1924 - September 3, 2022
Harold Russell passed away peacefully, on September 3, 2022, at the Scarborough Retirement Residence in Toronto, Ontario, at the age of 98.
Predeceased by the love of his life, Marie (Martin) (2010), to whom he was married for more than 62 wonderful years.
He was the devoted and dearly loved father of Glenn and Linda Russell, and Debbie and David Beaumont.
The loved and admired Grandpa to Tracy (Mike) Hogue, Ryan (2011) (Christine) Russell, Adam (Amanda) Beaumont, Mark (Kathleen) Beaumont, Michelle (Brandon) Burt and Adrienne Beaumont.
Very proud Great-Grandpa to Breanna, River, Nolan, Finlay, Bronwyn, Emily, Aubrey, Henry, Zoey and Owen. Home-birthed and raised in Toronto, the fourth of ten children to Holly and Irene Russell. Survived by his one brother, Don (Caroline) Russell; and 3 of his 8 sisters, Valerie, Shirley and Roma. Harold was a hardworking, loyal employee of the Toronto Star Newspaper for over 49 years.
The remainder of his time was devoted to making his family happy and lending a helping hand wherever he could.
He will be remembered for his faith in God, love, strength, generosity and guidance.
Harold loved being outdoors and was happiest with his "Little Marie" by his side dancing or swinging a golf club or a hammer or gardening tools. He will be lovingly remembered by his many nephews and nieces.
As per Harold's request, a Cremation has taken place. There will be a small family Mass and Celebration of Life at a future date.
