WOODS, Valerie Poure   -  On Friday, September 9, 2022, Valerie Poure Woods, a brave solo traveler and dog lover, passed away, at the age of 75.

Valerie was born on Groundhog Day, February 2, 1947, in St. Lambert, Montreal, to Virginia and Maurice Poure.

She worked in the healthcare industry serving as an ambulance driver in Timmins, Ontario, and a caretaker in a group home in Dundas, Ontario.

Valerie cared for several important dogs in her life – Button, Leaf, Lupin, Tor and survived by Fogo.

Valerie was a self-driven adventurer who toured Canada by bicycle and loved the activities of the Great North.

She was a lover of classical music and most of all adored participating in retriever clubs with her dogs.

Valerie was preceded in death by her father, Maurice Poure, mother, Virginia Oman Poure, and brother, Wallace Poure.

She is survived by her nephew, Jason Poure (Muriel); and her cousins, Wallace Oman (Larry Crummer), Charles Oman (Monique), Charles Oman (Cherry), Virginia Oman, William Oman, Douglas Oman and Kenneth Poure.

A Memorial Service celebrating Valerie's life will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at St. Luke's Anglican Church, 1382 Ontario St., Burlington, Ontario, at 11 a.m.
