WESTERHOEK, Anna Maria (nee POOT)    -  February 5, 1937 – October 1, 2022

Anna died peacefully at her home at the age of 85, surrounded by her family.

A loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, oma and friend, Anna was a blessing to those around her and will be greatly missed by all those who loved her. Anna born in De Lier, Netherlands to parents Maria and Leendert Poot.

Anna was the second oldest in what would become a family of 13.

The oldest daughter, Anna had many fond memories of taking care of her younger siblings. In 1955, Anna, now 18, and her family immigrated to Canada.

She met Jack and they soon started a family of their own. Anna raised five boys, John (Christine), Roy (Debbie), Andrew (Lorna), Terence and David (Lise).

With her loving heart and quiet strength, Anna was always taking care of those around her. That extended to her eleven grandchildren, Terrah, Rachel, Jessica, Jonathan, Sean, Andrew, Nicholas, Hannah, Elizabeth, Estelle and Esaie, and three great-grandchildren, Emily-Ann, Hallie-Lynn, and Andrew.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bethel Christian Reformed church, 333 Davis Drive, Newmarket followed by a reception, Interment Heise Hill Cemetery.

Anna was a wonderful light in the lives of those around her, with her incredible servant's heart and her deep love for God.

She devoted much of her life to volunteering for various churches and charitable organizations.

Donations to Christian Horizons, an organization very close to Anna's heart, would be welcomed by the family.
