GILBERT, Dorothy Marie (nee DAVIES) - Passed away peacefully, on November 21, 2022, in Markham, at the incredible age of 98 years old.
She is survived by her children, Douglas (Lee), Gordon (Lorraine) and Barbara (John); her grandchildren, Ashley (Jon), Natalie (Nico), Gabrielle (Tommy), Jared, Emily (Brendan), Shannon and Daniel; and her great-grandchildren, Xavier, Kaiya and Miles.
She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Ross.
While small in stature, Dorothy had a big presence in life and used her voice to speak up for and care for others in her community.
She was a dedicated nurse and volunteer, and a cherished mother, sister and grandmother. The family would like to thank the staff of Amica Unionville (formerly The Marleigh) for the compassionate care provided during her nine years in the home.
Donations may be made to Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation, in her honor.
A Visitation will take place on Thursday, November 24th, from 5:30-8:00 p.m., at Dixon Garland Funeral Home (166 Main St. N., Markham, ON). A Funeral Service will be held at Funeral Home on Friday, November 25th, at 2:00 p.m., with a Reception to follow.
