YOUNG, Kelvin Albert   -  December 28, 1927 - November 15, 2022

Kelvin went to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ, on November 15, 2022, just a few weeks shy of his 95th birthday.

Born in Adelaide, South Australia, Kelvin passed away peacefully, at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.

Beloved husband of Margaret Helen, who predeceased him in 2017. Survived by their three children, Maureen (Matthias), Barbara Jane (Paul), and Bruce (Mira); as well as ten grandchildren and one great-grandson.

A graduate of the University of Adelaide, he embarked on his career as a metallurgical engineer by first travelling to Rhodesia (modern Zimbabwe). Following several years there, before an anticipated return home, he went on an excursion through Europe, where he met two Canadian sisters of his parents' vintage. They invited him to visit in Vancouver, an invitation he happily accepted, and from there began to seek job options in North America.

He found employment and a sweetheart in Cobalt, in northern Ontario, and he and Margaret were married in 1955, within a year of his arrival.

The young couple moved west to Edmonton, Alberta, where their three children were born. They stayed there for twelve years, and then began to explore more of the world together.

Subsequent homes were in Yorkshire, England; Melbourne, Australia; and Montréal Québec, before they settled in Mississauga, Ontario, in 1976.

They found a church family at Erindale Bible Chapel, and although their world travels continued, Mississauga was their home for the rest of their life together. Always a gentleman who won people's hearts with his twinkling eyes and a ready smile, he leaves a rich legacy.

Donations in his honour may be made to ShareWord Global (formerly The Gideons), or to the Salvation Army.
