DOURIS, John "Bud" - Passed away peacefully, at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket, on Saturday, December 3, 2022, in his 92nd year.
Loving husband of the late June Douris. He will be sadly missed by his companion of 22 years, Marion Mather.
Beloved father of Christopher (Diane), Mark (Ruth Anne), Jacques (Caren), Catharine and Kelly (Gord).
Proud grandfather of Cody, Kieran, Quinton, Matthew, Andrew, Anthony, Mark, Marc-Alexander, Michael, Madeline, Brianna, and Kyle.
Predeceased by his sisters, Ann and Joyce; and brothers, Matt, Bill, and Drew. John had a rewarding career as a teacher, and he thoroughly enjoyed many years of retirement.
He took up down hill skiing, guitar, and continued painting.
He immersed himself with books, especially Westerns and of course he spent many summer days at his cherished cottage.
Celebration of life gathering will be held at Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main Street South, Newmarket, on Saturday, December 10, 2022, from 1-3 p.m. with family tributes at 1:45 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to The Toronto Star Santa Claus Fund and Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation.
