Greven JoyceGREVEN, Carol Joyce   -  It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Carol Greven, at age 81 on November 18, 2022.

Carol died peacefully at Campbellford Memorial Hospital due to complications from cancer. Loved by her children, Lesley and Brian (Jodie); and grandchildren, Allison, Alex and Riley Greven.

Sister to Jerry Knightley (Carolyn), Ken Knightley (predeceased) (Sheila), and sister-in-law, Luise Peconi (Ed).

She will be missed by her five nieces and nephews.

Carol attended her hometown school of Agincourt Collegiate, and there she met the love of her life, Jack Greven, where they both excelled in academics and athletics.

Carol attended the University of Toronto where she played field hockey and ice hockey for the Blues, and graduated with a degree in Physical Education and a Bachelor of Education.

Carol and Jack married in June of 1963. After their retirement, Carol and Jack moved from Agincourt to the beautiful community of Campbellford.

Losing Jack (2017) was difficult for her and she found great comfort and compassion in her new community, and also in these lyrics of her favorite song, "I know we'll meet again some sunny day."

Her family is comforted that she has now joined her beloved Jack. Carol will be missed by her countless friends, particularly her longtime, dear friend, Carol Robertson; and her childhood friend, Peggy Kelcher.

She will be remembered for her involvement in several local groups and organizations, including the Lionesses, Women on Wheels and the Campbellford District High School's Breakfast Club. She was known for her sense of humour, her positive and inspirational attitude, and her love of cooking and baking for family and friends.

Per Carol's request, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Campbellford Memorial Hospital.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Grand Maple, 19 Albert St., Hastings, Ontario, on Sunday, May 7, 2023, from 1-4 p.m.
