McCARVILLE, Mary Eleanor (nee MURPHY)   -   March 16, 1924 - December 10, 2022

Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

We celebrate the life and mourn the passing of Mary Eleanor McCarville, who died quietly at Michael Garron Hospital, on Friday, December 16, 2022, at the age of 98.

Mary was born in Millvale, Prince Edward Island, and married Cyril Joseph McCarville in Hope River in 1948.

Moving to Toronto in 1953, they raised their family of four children, instilling in them the importance of a life rooted in spiritual connection, the values of hard work and education, and a love of the Island.

Always a loving mother, Mary's heart was open to the concerns of others beyond her family.

She leaves behind many who were touched by her friendly interest in them. Predeceased by her husband (Cyril) and her youngest child (Louis), she will be missed by her other children, Joseph (Valerie). Desmond (Bonita), and Kathleen Harding; grandchildren, Brendan McCarville, Nathan House, Mollie Rolfe, Michael (Lindsay) Harding and Maureen Harding (Daryl), Justin and Jordan (Theresa) McCarville; great-grandchildren, Gordon, Mabel, Clive, Joan and Clark.

Mary's family thanks the staff at Retirement Suites By The Lake, for their many years of care, and the medical team at Michael Garron Hospital, for their efforts at the end.

In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that donations be made to The Living Well food bank, operated by the Martha Sisters of Prince Edward Island: The Living Well, c/o Sister Rosemary MacDonald, 303-215 Minna Jane Drive, Charlottetown, PEI C1E 3M8.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, from 11 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., at McDougall & Brown Funeral Home, 2900 Kingston Rd., Scarborough. A Funeral Mass will follow, 1:30 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 131 Birchmount Rd., Scarborough, with Interment in Toronto. Guests are invited to a reception.
