BOD, János (John) Aladár - September 13, 1937 - January 23, 2023
With deep sadness we share the news of the passing of János (John), in his 86th year at Ian Anderson House in Oakville. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 53 years, Zsuzsa (Susan).
Dearly loved father to Erika (Frank) and Thomas (Keisha); adored Papa to Jessica (R.J.), Jackie, Sophie, Leah and Olivia; and sweetest Papapa to Audrey.
Immigrating to Canada after the 1956 Revolution, he was grateful and proud to make Canada his home.
He is remembered for his love of music, all things Hungarian, chocolate and his unwavering support of the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was the best fishing partner, and an avid gardener and nature lover. He tended to his flower gardens and took time to care for all creatures, big and small. He would always have a smile and a joke for you, and always made sure to tuck some money into your pocket after your visit.
Thank you to the lovely care of those at Ian Anderson House who provided our Papa with love and comfort until his passing. Family and friends are invited to visit at the McKersie-Kocher Funeral Home, 114 Main St. E., Milton, on Sunday, January 29, 2023, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. A private family service has already been held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of John to the Ian Anderson House would be appreciated by the family.
