MARK, John Jean Captain, Retired - February 28, 1935 - January 15, 2023
Passed away peacefully at home, after a very lengthy illness with his loving and devoted wife by his side, as always.
John joined the Brampton Fire Department in 1967 and never looked back. He served a long, proud and illustrious career with the department for more than 30 years.
John is survived by his dearly loved and cherished wife of more than 68 years, Marilyn (Mairse); his daughter, Joanne; and his son, Kevin (Roxanne).
He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Patti (the later Peter) Large and Anne (the late Georgie) Wretham; the Wretham boys, Mark (his godson), Adam and Jeffrey; the Large children, Matthew, Patrick John and Katie; his own Bobby Mark; and many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephew too numerous to mention.
John's family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Jennifer, the Duffney family, the Belben family, Delena and Mary; and of course, our very own, very special, much-loved 'Poppa' Bill, for all their help and kindness to us over the years.
Last, but certainly not least, John's family would like to give a very special and sincere thanks to his brothers of the Wasaga Beach Fire Department, who, like John and his wonderful and brave crews before them, were always there to answer the call.
