Bishop JohnBISHOP, John   -  Thousand Island Marine Construction

Passed away peacefully, in the presence of family at the Brockville General Hospital on Saturday, March 18, 2023.

John Bishop, aged 76.

Beloved husband of Brenda Mastin of 55 years; much-loved father of Andrew Bishop of Gananoque and Courtney Gravelle (James) of Windsor; the cherished grandfather of Ruby, Violet and Jameson; and dear brother of Beatrice.

Predeceased by his brother, Bernard; and sister, Margaret. An original "River Rat,"

John was a Marine Contractor for over 56 years. He worked long hours on the river until the age of 75, providing quality workmanship for generations of cottagers. John believed if you loved what you did, you never worked a day in your life.

He believed it was not about the job, but the people you worked for, and he greatly valued his clients and the employees who worked for him. His love of his work and for the St. Lawrence River was only surpassed by his love of his family.

John was a loving husband, father and most recently, his beloved role as "Poppy." His greatest joy was spending time at the cottage with his loved ones. John will be forever loved and deeply missed. His spirit will live on in the roll of the river and the sparkle in the eyes of his grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life and gathering will take place at a later date.

If desired, a donation can be made in John's memory to the Thousand Islands Association or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
