Peacefully, at Humber River Hospital, taken to be with the Lord on Friday, March 24, 2023.
Beloved husband of Elizabeth, and of his late wife, Betty; loving father of Colin, Marian and John; loving grandfather of Becky, David, Curtis and Tyler; great-grandfather to Easton; beloved brother of the late Isobel McGregor (Colin) of Waterloo; and loving uncle of Robin (Robbie), Bonnie (Gary) and Ian (Denise).
On Betty's side, loving uncle to Patti, Mary, Susan and Peter McBride, and Ted Capes.
His loving cousins regularly celebrate their birthdays together and will miss his cheery, up-beat personality. Lovingly remembered by Grace Schakelaar (Gerrit) and Marilyn Nelson (Gordon).
Bruce had fond memories of his longtime friends around his hometown of Welland, his church friends, and his associates from his "careers" in finance, education and municipal government.
He was honoured to serve as Mayor of Etobicoke for 10 years, and on Metro Toronto Council for over 20 years.
Funeral service will be held at Kingsway Baptist Church, on Saturday April 1, 2023, at 11.00 a.m., 41 Birchview Blvd., Etobicoke, ON (Montgomery Rd. and Bloor St. W.).
Donations may be made to World Vision or Canadian Baptist Ministries.
Private interment will be held.
