Elliott MaeELLIOTT, Mae (nee BROOKS)   -  Mae passed away peacefully, in her 102nd year, on April 27, 2023, at Chartwell Trilogy LTC Home, Scarborough, with loving family by her side.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Walter (1989), whom she met in Muskoka when she was fourteen.

She is survived by her children, Wally (Denise) and Jean (Ed Sukman); her grandchildren, Michael (Karen), Patricia (Chris), Carey (Jacqui) and James (Jackie); and by great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Stephen, Asha, Tyler, Geoffrey, Trevor and Blake.

Mae was born in Toronto to Alice and Frederick Brooks (Maidstone, Kent, England) on June 12, 1921.

She lived in her own home in Scarborough for more than 80 years, until her recent stroke last November. Mae was a strong lady who valued hard work. She loved to cook and bake for family and friends.

She also enjoyed quilting, gardening, sewing and many other crafts; adored all animals, especially her many pets; and treasured time spent at "Blue Haven," the log cabin she and Walter built in Innisfil, Ontario.

Remarkable, the things she experienced during her lifetime: the stock market crash, the Great Depression, WWII, an amazing tech boom and a pandemic. While we know she lived a fantastic, long life, she will be greatly missed by her family.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on June 24, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Six Line Cemetery, Innisfil, with a reception to follow.
