MEDCALF, Evelyn Ascot (nee JACOBS)  -  A few weeks before her 99th birthday, Evelyn died peacefully in Scarborough.

 

Born Evelyn Ascot Jacobs in London, England, she immigrated to Toronto in 1953 with her husband, Ernest Lawrence (Larry) Medcalf (deceased), and her beloved daughter, Lynne Denise.

 

ve was employed until her retirement in 1989 in the communications department of the city of Scarborough.

 

Her second career was as an entertainer, singing, dancing and performing comedy sketches around the province as a member of the "Westminster Chimes."

 

For nearly 20 years, Eve performed onstage at Roy Thomson Hall as part of the annual Seniors Jubilee.

 

Eve is survived by her daughter, Lynne Medcalf; niece, Trudy Medcalf (John Litster); great-nephews, Peter Litster (Nicole) and Jack Hui Litster (Gloria); their children, as well as the families of her cousins in England.
