BROWN, Kathleen Annie -
February 1, 1922 - September 12, 2023
Loved in life and mourned in passing by those who knew Kathleen Annie Brown (nee Pierce).
This matriarch of the family flourished for almost 102 years by living life to the fullest.
This longevity she attributes to the pleasure and satisfaction of more than 35 years of successfully teaching grade 1 children both in Britain and Canada and then a fulfilling and happy retirement.
These later years included travel, a good book, the presence of a friendly cat and teaching line dancing to seniors. She was predeceased by husband ex-RAF Sergeant Maurice Brown (1989).
She leaves behind a saddened family: son, Stuart (Annette); grandson, Jeremy; granddaughter, Darcy (Krystian); great-granddaughter, Lauryn; and former daughter-in-law, Helena (Les). Her family in southern England includes: brother, Douglas; nephews, Roger and Neville; niece, Katy; and great-nephews, Rowan and Miles.
We are grateful for the care and affection shown to her by the staffs at both the Wellings retirement home and Kentwood Park LTC in Picton. They enabled her final years to be calm and happy ones.
Kathleen specifically requested no formal services or visitations.
She will be cremated and interred next to her husband in Glendale Memorial Gardens in a private ceremony.
Any recognition of this very special lady's life could be in the form of donation to a childrens' charity or to Hospice Prince Edward County.
