Belzar ZitaBELZAR, Zita Mary (nee KUNDA)  -  It is with deep sadness that we announce that Zita Mary Belzar (nee Kunda), died peacefully, at Credit Valley Hospital on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at the age of 85.


Predeceased by her beloved husband, Josef Belzar (formerly of Mast, Slovakia); and her parents, Dominic and Mary Kunda (nee Jacko), who emigrated from Liptovske Revuce, Slovakia.


Dear mother of Elaine, Diann (John), and Blaine (Debbie); and beloved grandmother of Evan, Lauren and Brooke.


Zita was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, on the island of Cape Breton on June 23, 1938. In 1952, the family migrated to Toronto, Ontario, where she met and married her husband of 44 years.


She was deeply loved and will be very much missed by her family, friends, and the Slovak community.


Friends may visit at the Turner & Porter "Peel" Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga, on Monday, February 5, 2024, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Parish, 5255 Thornwood Dr., Mississauga, on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Mississauga.
