It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William (Bill) Featherstone. Bill passed peacefully at Northumberland Hills Hospital on March 27, 2025 at the age of 90.
Bill was born in Middlesborough, UK on July 26th, 1934, and moved to Portsmouth, UK at the age of 5. At 14 he attended St. Vincent boys’ school and upon graduation became a Radar Plotter in the Royal Navy. Following 10 years of service in the Navy and Merchant Marine he retired and took up the carpentry trade with his brother. Then in 1969 he immigrated to Canada with his wife Patricia, daughters Susan and Julie and son Darryn.
Following a long career working for General Motors in Oshawa, ON, Bill retired to their small hobby farm in Garden Hill, ON and lived there until 2019 when he moved to Regency Manor Long Term Care home in Port Hope, ON.
Bill is predeceased by his wife Patricia of 68 years and grandson Mathew and survived by his children, Susan, Julie and Darryn, 6 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Bill’s family sincerely appreciates the care and compassion shown by the staff of Regency Manor and Northumberland Hills Hospital during his time in their care.
A celebration of life is going to be held at St Paul’s Anglican Church in Perrytown, ON, on Friday April 4, at 2pm. All are welcome to attend and share memories.

Verna Maude Grills Western peacefully passed away on March 29, 2025, joining her beloved husband Stewart (58 years). She leaves behind her children, Sharon (late David), Murray (Lynette), Marilyn (David Michael), and Ken (Margaret), who will cherish her forever.
Verna was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She adored her twelve grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren, providing them with endless smiles, happiness, and hugs. Verna was also blessed with two great-great-grandchildren.
In her youth, Verna enlisted in the army during WWII and later married Stewart before leaving the service. She supported her local church, the UCW, and various community projects throughout her life. Verna had many lifelong friends, and she had a special bond with her sister Dorothy, the only sibling still living.
A service to celebrate Verna’s life will be held at the Valentia Community Centre on Sunday, April 13th, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., with a light reception to follow. Donations to the Valentia Community Centre would be appreciated and can be made by cheque through the funeral home.

Peacefully, at the Wiarton Hospital, on Monday, March 31, 2025, in her 86th year. Eunice was the loving wife of the late Roy Tipping. She was the beloved mother of Debbie and her husband Rick, Sheldon and his wife Wendy, and Robert and his wife Fiona. Eunice was a proud grandma to Jasmin (Duncan), Richard (Kayla), Meagan, Daniel (Sam), and Erin. She was also a great-grandma to Cordelia, Paisley, Jacob, Preston, Logan, and soon-to-arrive great-granddaughter Lily.
Eunice is survived by her dear siblings Paul Weir and Gerald Weir. She was predeceased by her parents Archibald Weir and Audrey (nee Cooper), her sister Pat, and brothers George and Archie.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Gateway Haven for their compassionate care of Eunice, our mother, grandma, and great-grandma.

Linda was a dear sister of Carol Metzger and will also be missed by her nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Ken and Marg Hopper, sisters Lenora Doll (Les), Shirley Eagles, brother David Hopper, and brother-in-law Wayne Metzger.

Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, on Monday, April 7, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate Linda’s life will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Marilyn Wiley passed away peacefully at Chapman House, Owen Sound on January 1, 2025, at the age of 85. Marilyn was born in Woodstock, New Brunswick, on July 4, 1940.
She was a loving mother to Natalie Stasko, Heather Spencer; stepchildren Keith Elka, Mike Elka, Robert Elka, and Bonnie Mulholland. Marilyn was a cherished grammie to Laura Lawless, James Malone, Danielle Stasko, Gregory Stasko, and Caitlyn Spencer. She was also the dear sister of Norma Brown.
Marilyn will also be missed by her nephew Eric Brown (Gisele) and her friends in Owen Sound and Markdale.
She was predeceased by her husband John Elka, son-in-law Stephen Stasko, niece Diane Brown, and granddaughter Jennifer Stasko.
The memorial service will be held at Christ Anglican Church, 70 Toronto St. South, Markdale, Ontario, on Friday, April 4, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior. Rev. Jeffery Kischak will officiate the service.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ralph Quast on April 1, 2025, in his 91st year. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 52 years, Lillian Burnette. He leaves behind his daughter Linda (Bryan) Fraser, son Doug (Ruth), and daughter Valerie (Neil) Renkema. He was a loving grandfather to Chris and Tim Fraser, Brenda and Dan Quast, Erin Leggo, and Dylan Renkema. Also survived by four great-grandchildren. Ralph was predeceased by siblings Lila (Elmer), Leonard (Rose), Mabel (Florian), and Marian.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed woodworking. He spent much of his leisure time at the cottage at Golden Lake.
Family and friends may pay their respects at Zohr Family Funeral Home, Renfrew on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The funeral will take place in the chapel on Friday, April 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Rosebank Cemetery will follow in the spring.

Paul Robert Kueneman of Walkerton passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at South Bruce Grey Health Centre in Walkerton, at the age of 75. He was the beloved husband of Heather and loving father to Krista Wyman (Wake Forest, N.C.), Summer Kueneman (Aaron Fleischauer) of Walkerton, and Matt Kueneman (Katie) of Walkerton. Paul was a cherished grandfather to Hudson, Ethan, Ben, Ryan, Jack, William, Mason, Halle, Austin, and Taylor.
He will be dearly missed by his siblings: Rita Durrer, Ken (Doreen) Kueneman, and Bill (Lynda) Kueneman, all of Mildmay; Mary Lou (Jim) Dasiuk of Saskatoon; his sister-in-law Betty Kueneman of Waterloo; and brother-in-law to Wendy (Bob) Scott of Ripley, Andrew (Dianna) Cleland of London, Charles (Trudy) Cleland of Point Clark, Kathleen (John) Moyer of Kitchener, and David MacDonald of Kincardine. Paul was also fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Paul is predeceased by his siblings Shirley Schneider, Sheila Mathieson, Joe Kueneman, brother-in-laws Ken Durrer and Gord Mathieson, sister-in-law Rosemary MacDonald, and parents William and Marie (nee Berberich) Kueneman and mother-in-law and father-in-law Betty and Hugh Cleland.
Paul grew up on the Kueneman farm in Carrick Township, where he learned the values of hard work, loyalty to family and caring for your community. He often said that success wasn’t the result of luck, but rather the result of effort. He enjoyed a fulfilling career as a realtor with Wilfred McIntee Real Estate Company for 45 years and continued to work in some capacity until his passing.
In his youth, Paul was a talented athlete, excelling in track and field and wrestling at W.D.S.S. He also played hockey with the Senator Hockey Team until the age of 72, holding the title of longest-serving player and creating lifelong friendships along the way.
Paul was especially thankful for the support of his family and friends during his journey with cancer. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, whether at the cottage, on the porch or at the rink. He was known for his kind heart, generosity, integrity, quiet sense of humour, and wisdom. He believed forgiveness was the greatest virtue.
The family is profoundly grateful for the exceptional care Paul received at Hospitals in Walkerton, London and Owen Sound. From doctors and nurses to lab and support staff, as well as the emergency and community care team, each person provided Paul with unwavering kindness, compassion, and understanding. We are truly thankful for their dedication. A special thank you to Dr. Gill, Dr. Horsfal, Dr. Aboo, and Dr. Sanni for guiding us through this challenging medical journey. It truly took a village, and we feel incredibly blessed and thankful to each of them.
Friends and relatives are invited to visitation from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Cameron Funeral Home in Walkerton. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 7, 2025, at Sacred Heart Church, Walkerton. Fr. Leszek Szczygiel officiating. For the majority of his career, Vince worked in sales related industries, including Real Estate. He had a passion for photography and playing guitar. He was a DIY-er, and was very handy in mechanics.

It is with great heartbreak that we announce the passing of Michael “Mike” William Galaski, age 47, of Midland. Mike passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of March 14, 2025.
Mike is survived by his mother, Janet; his brother, Graham (Tasha); and his sister, Kirsten (B.J.). He will also be remembered as Uncle Mikey to Kassie, Freh, and Ethan. Mike’s godparents, Aunt Maryanne and Uncle Ron, also mourn his passing, as do his aunts and uncles: Bill, Debbie, and Pat. He is also remembered by his cousin Laurel and Aunt Sharon. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph, and his grandparents, Joe and Grace Galaski and Herman and Myrtle Snyders. Mike will be dearly missed by his many cousins, extended family, and friends.
Mike was born in Midland, Ontario, in 1977, and made the area his home for the remainder of his life. He developed a love for hockey, fishing, art, music and animals. Mike will be remembered by his friends and family for his interesting sense of humor and his desire to make everyone laugh.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church (Hugel Avenue, Midland) at 2:00 p.m. on Friday May 16, 2025. Interment will follow immediately at St. Margaret’s Cemetery (Yonge Street, Midland). Family and friends are invited back to St. Margaret’s Church for a luncheon in the basement.
Mike’s family is extremely grateful for the outpouring of support and love shown by friends, family, and the community during this difficult time. It is a testament to how deeply Mike was loved and cherished.
