PHELPS, Paul Kenneth   -  Paul Kenneth Phelps (known as Kenneth), born Edmonton, Alberta, March 25, 1929, died December 21, 2020, of a COVID related illness.

Kenneth was a resident of The Wexford Residence, in Scarborough, Ontario.

The staff of The Wexford became his second family and their attention to his care and well-being will long be remembered and appreciated.

He had been a member of the Zion-Wexford Church, on Lawrence Avenue, where he enjoyed fellowship and worship and remembered his church family fondly.

He was a retired forty-year employee of Goodwill Industries, where, as a disabled person, he was able to maintain a life of industry and contribution. He was a kind, caring, thoughtful son, brother, uncle, great-uncle and family member. He led a life of empathy, curiosity, and stoicism.

He had an extensive knowledge of classical music and enjoyed listening to the great and lesser known classical artists. He had an uncanny facility with dates and never forgot a birthday.

He was a fan of the Maple Leafs, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. And he generously gave to the Methodist Missions throughout his adult life.

He was a model to his family of living a life without complaint and enjoying the simple pleasures of conversation with his family and friends. He was a beloved member of his family and will be sorely missed.

As the Wizard of Oz said to the Tin Man, "A heart is not judged by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others." He was well-loved. He is survived by his sisters, Joan Barnes and Carole Beselaere.

He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and cousins.

Memorials may be made in his name to thewexford.org.
