deceased-imgTWOMEY, Robert - 20-May-1949 - 25-Aug-2024

With broken hearts, the family announces the passing of Robert (don’t call me Bob) Bernard Thomas Twomey on Sunday August 25, 2024.

Beloved husband and soul mate of Bernice (nee Bruce) for over 53 wonderful years. Extremely loving and proud father of Elizabeth and Tom (Susie) and proud poppy to his beloved puppers, his best buddy Mikey and princess Lola.

Son of the late Bert and Elaine Twomey. Son-in-law of Elizabeth (Betty) and the late Eldon Bruce.

Brother of Walter (Sheryl), Barry, the late Ronald (Judy), Colleen Trimm, the late Roger (Angela), Mark, Bert (Andrea), Joanne Richard (Dennis), and Harold. Brother-in-law of Randy (Bonnie) Bruce and the late Suzanne Bruce and David Bruce.

Loving uncle and great uncle to his many, many, nephews and nieces (even if he couldn’t remember your names) and cousin to the extended Twomey, Bruce, Cook, Flood and Perdue families.

Robert will be remembered for his adoration of his wife and children and his sense of service to others, including over 25 years of Volunteering with the Ajax-Pickering Branch of the Navy League of Canada where he served in many roles, including President and both Navy League and Sea Cadet Chair.

We thank you all for your ongoing love and support over the last few difficult months.

We encourage everyone to wear something Yellow, as when Robert met his wife, she was in a yellow dress. He was always fond of the cheerful colour and no suits please. Let's light up this event in Robert's memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Robert’s favorite charity, the Ajax-Pickering Branch of the Navy League of Canada via eTransfer to ajaxpickering.treasurer@navyleagueon.ca or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
