March 19, 2025
With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Sandrah Ann Gagnon, who left this world on March 19th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. At the age of 77, Sandra was the cherished wife of Bryce Gagnon for 57 beautiful years and the beloved matriarch of our family. Her kindness, devotion, and unwavering love touched all who knew her.
Sandra leaves behind her adoring husband Bryce; her daughters Natasha (Chris Burchat) of Markham, Natalie of Toronto, and Nicole of Eganville; and her treasured grandchildren Matthew, Owen, Ava and fur baby, Bella. She was the beloved daughter of the late Clifford and Myrtle Schroeder (nee Marquardt) and a loving sister to Shirley Puhlman of Calgary, Alberta, and Ralph Schroeder of Golden Lake. Sandra will also be deeply missed by her nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Sandra’s nurturing spirit was evident in every aspect of her life. She dedicated many years to operating Generations Child Care in Eganville, helping to lovingly raise 204 children. Affectionately known as the “Cake Lady,” Sandra’s beautifully crafted cakes brought joy to countless birthdays, weddings, and celebrations. Her passion for creating lasting memories through her baking was a gift to the community.
A devoted volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society, Sandra played an essential role in organizing the spring fundraising drives and selling daffodils to support cancer research. Her generous heart and willingness to serve others was a testament to her compassionate nature.
Faith was the foundation of Sandra’s life. She was actively involved in both the Lutheran Church in Germanicus and Grace Lutheran Church in Eganville. Her steadfast belief in the Lord brought her peace and strength, and she lived her life with grace and kindness.
A celebration of Sandra’s life was held on March 24th at Zohr Family Funeral Home, Eganville, officiated by Pastor Ralph Weigold. A spring interment will follow at Grace Lutheran Cemetery.
Memories and notes of condolence may be shared at Zohr Funeral Home.
