ARMSTRONG, Stephanie Lyn -
It is with profound and overwhelming sadness we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Stephanie Armstrong, after a short but heroic and challenging battle with cancer at Leeds Cancer Hospital, U.K.
Stephanie quietly slipped away with her family by her side on Friday June 17, 2022 at the age of 54.
Stephanie leaves behind her father Bob Armstrong (Lyn), siblings Todd Armstrong, Debbie Armstrong-Cattell (Steve), Jeff O’Brien (Tammy), Jodi Dobko (Adam).
Aunt to Emily (Brandon), Mackie (Andrea), Matthew, Lauren, Paige, Katelyn, Brennen, Cameron & Wil.
Niece to Sally Martens (John), cousin to Sarah, Laura, Georgia and their families.
Stephanie has countless friends around the world with whom she loved connecting and often travelled to spend time with. Stephanie’s many journeys led to the purchase of her dream home in the Dales of Yorkshire, England. Steph’s neighbours there became steadfast friends whom she shared favourite times with and who helped her tremendously as she faced her cancer challenges at the start of 2022.
Stephanie was a proud and dedicated teacher, challenging children all around the world as she taught at many international schools, including South Korea, Mexico, Germany, Singapore, Doha & England. Stephanie is sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her family at ACS International School, Cobham, Surrey, England.
Stephanie’s post secondary education included Queens University, Canada. University College London, England and Deakin University, Australia.
Her cancer was swift and profound. Encouraged by the support of her neighbours, friends and family Stephanie fought to the very end, always focusing on getting back to the life she loved.
A Memorial Celebration of Stephanie’s Life was held on Monday June 27, 2022 at ACS School Cobham by her Colleagues, Peers, Students and friends.
A Funeral Service was held on Monday July 4, 2022 at 12:20pm, Stonefall Chapel, Harrogate, Yorkshire, England, followed by cremation.
A Memorial Celebration will be held Friday July 15 from 3pm - 6pm at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King St.E. Oshawa, Ontario.
Memorial donations to Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre would be appreciated by the family.
Please cheers to Stephanie while out for dinner with friends, enjoy laughter and good conversation as Stephanie always did. Benches in her memory are being placed at Glasshouses, Harrogate and Cobham, Surrey.
Your absence has gone through me
Like thread through a needle.
Everything I do is stitched with its color.”
