Cowell TomCOWELL, John Thomas 'Cowboy' - Passed away, peacefully, at the Welland Hospital on Thursday, August 31, 2017 in his 70th year.

Survived by his son John, daughter Stacy and four grandchildren. Dear brother of Angus (Heidi), Danny (Birgit), Fred (Judy), Dave (Pam) and Donald (Sherry).

Predeceased by his parents Henry Ruben and Margaret Cowell, brothers Ronald and Michael and sister Jeanie.

Tom was formerly employed at Atlas Steel for many years. He will be remembered for his love of Mustang cars and country music. He also enjoyed playing cards and tinkering with cars, he will be sadly missed.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Tom’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 4, 383 Morningstar Avenue, Welland on Friday, September 8th at 12 noon.

A very special thank you to the staff and residents at Lakeside Terrace for their kindness and friendship and to the wonderful nurses and staff from the 6th Floor at the Welland Hospital for their care and compassion during Tom’s final days.

Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society through H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland who are in care of the funeral arrangements.
