Hume IanHUME, Ian Robert  -  December 4, 1940 - May 9, 2022

Ian Robert Hume passed away peacefully at home, at the age of 81, on May 9, 2022, surrounded by Sandy, his wife of 57 years, and daughters Stephanie (Michael) Meehan and Lindsey (Kyle) Stanford.

Lovingly know as Pop to grandchildren, Kate, Ryan, Jack and Madeline.

Pop had a profound impact on his family and will be deeply missed by all.

Survived by his sister, Diane (the late John) Ward; nephews, Doug Ward, Mike (Patty) Ward; and niece, Susan (David) Carnaffan, and all of their children.

Also survived by sister-in-law, Diane (the late Ken) Duck; nephews, KJ (Tori Wright) Duck, Drew (Megan) Duck, and all of their children.

KONDRAT, Joel Russell   -  March, 12 1970 – May, 9 2022

With immense sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Joel, at the age of 52.

Loving husband of 29 years to Sandy, cherished son of Ron and Sharon Kondrat, son-in-law of Cynthia and Kenrick Ramdin and dear brother to Joanna and Nicholas.

Walker RichardWALKER, Richard Bruce   - August 6, 1931 - May 9, 2022

Bruce lived, and died on his own terms at home.

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his children.

Predeceased in 2019 by the love of his life Grace (Stevens) with whom he shared 70 years of laughter and tears.

He will be sadly missed by children Karen (Don), Richard Steven and Constance, as well as granddaughters, Adelaide and Alexandra Attard. 

In retirement, Bruce was able to spend more time painting and writing, as well as travelling with Grace.

His career included advertising, film commercials, animation, graphic design, script writing and general creative "dogsbody" work.

Pegg BarbaraPEGG, Barbara J.   -  July 6, 1929 - May 9, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother, Barbara June Pegg, on Monday, May 9, 2022, at the age of 92 years.

Beloved wife of the late Lloyd Pegg. Caring mother of Wesley (Dianne) and cherished grandma of Aaron and Sarah.

Barbara was predeceased by her youngest son Geoffrey and her brothers Jack and George.

After a long battle with cancer, it is with heavy hearts we announce that our beloved Linda, mother to everyone she has ever met, passed away at home on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 8, 2022.

A loving wife of over 45 years to Allen, a devoted mother to Jennifer, Ryan and Zachary, sister of Lisa, Laurie, Ron and Bob, daughter of the late Mary Mahler and Gotlob Mahler.

A compassionate angel who only knew how to love, touching many lives in so many ways. You will forever be missed until we meet again.

Schecter MelvynSCHECTER, Melvyn Elliott   -  Born in Ottawa, July 31, 1939, died in Toronto, May 8, 2022, peacefully, surrounded by his family.

Extraordinary man and beloved patriarch; adoring husband to Arlene; devoted father to Marni (Tom) and I.J.; proud grandfather to Julian, Oliver, Charlotte and Taliesin; loyal son to late mother Lena and late father Syd; treasured son-in-law to Freda and Joe; caring sibling to Estelle and Sol; respected stepbrother to Brian and Jack; cherished brother-in-law to Larry and Rhoda; and admired presence to many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

COOK, Irija   -   March 21, 1931 – May 8, 2022

It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Irija at the age of 91, at the Moir Centre for Continue Complex Care. Irija was predeceased by her husband, the Reverend Donald R. Cook, in 1998.

She is survived by her sister, Tina (Tynne) Hembruff (Albert 2014).

She is predeceased by her bothers, Tiovo (2021) and Emeli (1995) and Viljmi (1936).

Darrell DorisDARRELL, Doris Cynthia (nee CAREY)   -  Born December 15, 1929, passed away peacefully in her 93rd year on Sunday, May 8, 2022, in Toronto, Canada.

Beloved widow of Woodrow Grenville Richardson Darrell. Loving mother of Cheryl Ann and Jefferson.

Devoted grandmother of Kiana.

Daughter of the late Doris (nee Harris) and James Carey. Sister to Millicent (nee Carey) Burgess and Roy (deceased), the late Alfred and Eleanor (nee Gibbons), the late Vivian (nee Carey) and George Ealy, the late Basil Carey and his widow Gloria (nee Spenser), Beryl (nee Carey) Whitter and Leroy, Ivy (nee Carey) Thompson and Colridge (deceased), the late Rhyllis (nee Carey) Harney and Fabian, and the late Irving (Topsy) Carey.

Ihnatowycz GloriaIHNATOWYCZ, Gloria   - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Gloria Ihnatowycz on May 8, 2022.

She was 80 years old.

Beloved wife of the late Nick Ihnatowycz, Gloria leaves behind her cherished daughters, Larysa and Roma, as well as many cousins, nephews and nieces – she was "Teta Slavka" to so many.

She was predeceased by her parents, Mykhailo and Maria Iwanischak; sister, Anna Lucy (Jaworsky); and brother, Ivan.

An extraordinary beauty both inside and out, Gloria will be remembered for her warmth, kindness and engaging wit and humour.

Armstrong AlanARMSTRONG, Alan Hamilton   - 1932 - 2022   Dr. Alan Hamilton Armstrong passed away peacefully on May 8, 2022, at the age of 90.

His life began in 1932 in Belfast, Northern Ireland where he was born and raised by his parents, Dr. Edward Armstrong and Dr. Olive Armstrong.

He arrived in Canada in 1959 after receiving his medical degree from Queen's University in Belfast.

He worked at Hamilton General Hospital for a year followed by another year at Peel Memorial Hospital in Brampton.

In 1961, he set up his own practice in Bramalea, ON where he remained until retirement in 2000.

An enthusiastic traveller, Alan would often reminisce about the dozens of countries he visited with his cherished wife of 42 years, Ruth.

Sterian IreneSTERIAN, Irene   - On May 8, 2022, we lost a loving mother, daughter, wife, sister, friend, and Canadian business leader.

Irene is survived by her husband Stephen, children Lauren, Melanie, and Jake, mother Lya, brother Andrew, and an uncounted number of friends, relations and colleagues whose lives she has enriched.

She enjoyed a long career with IBM/Celestica Inc. and was the Founder, President and CEO of the REMAP technology accelerator.

Irene was recognised as an engineering innovator, but one of her greatest accomplishments was setting up her son for success as an adult with autism, and paving the way for other parents to do so.

NIETUPSKI, Anne (nee MACIOCHA)  -   Anne, passed away peacefully at home, Sunday, May 8, 2022, at the age of 81.

She will be forever missed by her children, Brenda, Daren, and Cindy.

RODGERS, Lorna   - March 5, 1937 - May 8, 2022

It is with profound sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beautiful Lorna. 

Devoted mom to Grant and Dianne.

Dedicated granny to Jesse B.; loyal mom-in-law to Robbie; and Irish cousin to lovely Anita.

WAITE, Ellen (nee CALLAHAN)    -  Ellen Waite died of Covid-19 on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at Thompson House for Better Living, which had been her home for almost 19 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Arlene Waite, son-in-law, James Coogan, and grandchildren Eliza and Seamus Coogan.

Her husband, Fred Waite, predeceased her in 1987.

Pead RogersPEAD, Rogers James  -   It is with great sadness and a lifetime of wonderful memories that we share the news of Roger James Pead passing on Sunday, May 8, 2022, with his daughters by his side.

Born May 30, 1945 in Wales, Roger grew up in London, England, before immigrating to Canada in 1969, joined by his late wife, Pauline (1947-2020), the love of his life, they shared 50 plus years together.

They married in 1974 and settled in Toronto, where they raised their two girls, Nicole and Sonya, in a home that was always filled with music and love.

Roger enjoyed a prosperous career as a lawyer, Senior Partner, and Counsel with Dentons Canada until he retired in 2013 after 44 years with the firm.

Walsh Beck JosephineWALSH-BECK, Josephine Mary   -  Jo passed away at home, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at the age of 92 years.

Beloved wife of the late Terry Beck. She will be sadly missed by her sister Anne (Ray); children Linda, Gwyneth (Terry), Daniel (Victoria), Damien, David (Kim), and Michael; stepson Larry Beck; grandchildren Jonathan (Crystal), Stephanie (Andrew), Leah, and Riley; great-grandchildren Lucas, Jacob, Harrison, and Penelope. She will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews and their families: Antony, Christopher, Francesca, Juliet, Sherry, Robert, Susan, and Geoffrey; and her cousins Bernadette, Teresa, George, and Tony.

Also predeceased by her parents Maurice and Hilda Monger, son Marc Walsh, stepson Patrick Beck, and first husband Daniel Walsh.

Andrighetti GiovanniANDRIGHETTI, Giovanni   -   God called our strong, beloved Nani home, on May 7, 2022.

Deeply devoted to his faith and his family, he lived life according to the two golden rules that were instilled in him by his father: be kind and be honest.

Devoted husband of Luciana. Loving father of Antonella, Cinzia (Frank), and Renza.

Cherished nonno of Alessia and Andrew.

Predeceased by his brothers Luigi (Corona) and Giuseppe (Maria) and survived by his brothers Angelo and Sergio (Secondina) and his sister, Sara.

Fondly remembered by his extended Bellunese family.

Giovanni was born in Fonzaso, Italy, on August 7, 1931, beneath the sanctuary of Monte Roncon where he proudly continued to maintain la casera that was built by his grandfather.

Suld KaljoSULD, Kaljo   -  It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kaljo (Kal) of Scarborough, Ontario who passed peacefully on May 7, 2022 in his 84th year.

Beloved husband of 60 years to Aasa.

Cherished father of Clifford (Elizabeth) and Ingrid.

Beloved wife of Salvadore (now deceased).

Loved and respected mother to Michael (Faith), Stephen (Freda) and Mary Ann (Steve).

ORAM, Gayle Lynne (nee PUNSHON)    -  Born May 9, 1949 in Toronto to Connie (nee Gurnik) and Arthur Punshon, died May 7, 2022 at Sunnybrook Hospital.

She was predeceased by her parents and sister Geri.

Gayle, true to her name, was a force of nature.

Crisp LesleyCRISP, Lesley Joan   -  It is with deep sadness that we share of the passing of Lesley Joan Crisp on May 7, 2022.

Lesley was a loving and devoted mother to Tristan, Euan, and Kyle, and a Grandma to Lincoln and Addison.

Lesley was a one of a kind soul, loved and cared for by many all across the globe who lived her life to give back.

Lesley was forever organizing charitable events, whether for Heart & Stroke, E-Fry, or the United Way, and everyone knew she had no problem asking you to sign up or chip in.

It was her wish to be cremated and her ashes to be taken home to Kenya to be spread with her parents.

Williams KarinWILLIAMS, Karin Georgina Ellen (FORMERLY DALE)   -  June 4, 1932 – May 7, 2022

Sadly passed away at Nicola Lodge, Port Coquitlam, BC. Karin owned a successful hairdressing businesses in East York, and Pefferlaw, Ontario.

She was a lifelong participant in church life, and volunteered for decades with the Lions Clubs in Ontario and BC.

Karin will be remembered as a loving and generous person, who had a great sense of humor.

Her mission in life was to serve God through giving and compassion.

Karin was predeceased by her husband Rev. Ian Williams and parents Karl (Charlie) and Rose Pieplow.

She is survived by: her older sister Edytha Terry; children Denise Dale, Dayna Solem (Mike), David Dale; stepdaughters Bonnie Williams (Murray) and Heather Taylor (Randy); nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Wyllie NeilWYLLIE, Neil James   -  Passed away on May 7, 2022 of complications due to Parkinson's disease.

Neil was 90 years old.

He leaves his godson, Justin Ashley, Toronto, ON; six cousins, Elspeth Finch, Burlington ON, Marge Naftali and Pat Buckley, Vancouver BC, Gavin Wyllie, Montreal QC, Heather Biver, Saltspring Island, BC and Eleanor McDougall, Glasgow, Scotland; and several devoted friends including Ru Lan Wang, Jack Wang, Charles Goldsmith and Andre Subekti.

Neil was born and raised in Scotland and in the Montreal area during the Second World War.

After Neil returned to Canada in the early fifties, he lived in Toronto.

Pede CarmelitanaPEDE, Carmelitana (Carmela)   -  1933 - 2022  It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Carmela, on Friday, May 6, 2022.

Predeceased by her husband Michele Pede (2005).

Carmela was born and raised in Montenero Val Cocchiara, Italy. She was very close to her family and enjoyed family gatherings and celebrations.

She regularly attended and participated in activities at Syme 55+ Centre where she had many friends, spending time together over breakfast and a coffee.

She was close to her neighbours and would often sit on her porch enjoying the sunshine and lovely flowers while chatting with family and neighbours.

MACRI, Antonietta   -  June 1, 1929 – May 6, 2022

Born in Chiaravalle Centrale CZ, Italy, she grew up during the depression and WWII.

Times were tough but full of joy in a family of 6 kids.

In 1946 she married Felice and that love story lasted 72 years, until his death in 2018.
