RATUSZNY, John Eugene   - September 13, 1941 - May 2, 2022

It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of John Eugene Ratuszny.

He passed away peacefully on Monday, May 2, 2022, at the age of 80.

Boden NancyBODEN, Nancy Elizabeth (nee QUANCE)    -  Peacefully and surrounded by her family, Nancy passed away, on Sunday, May 1, 2022, in her 91st year.

Beloved wife of 66 years to Ross.

Loving mother to Paul (Tina), Doug (Lynda) and Glenn (Sue).

Devoted grandmother of Amanda (Kurtis), Kelsey (Kaity), Taylor (Curtis), Michael, Julia, Bronwyn, and Ainsley and much-loved great-grandmother to Lyla, Jaxon, Noah, Eric, Lucy, Avery and Jack.

Nancy is survived by her sister Donna Quance and sister-in-law Shirley Denham (Gren).

BRUYEA, Brian Francis Xavier   -  Passed away peacefully, on May 1, 2022, at Michael Garron Hospital, at the age of 78.

He has rejoined his wife Chris of 41 years.

Predeceased by his parents and siblings.

Amos DorothyAMOS, Dorothy Lillian   -  Born November 13, 1925 in Toronto, Ontario, Dorothy passed away in hospital in Toronto on May 1, 2022.

Dearly missed by her many friends as well as her relatives, Doreen Allison Ryan (AB), Colin Ryan (AB), Lynn Gardiner (WI), Helen Hamilton (UK), Hils Bateman (UK), Kate Kaye (UK), Nigel Edwards (UK) and Val Scott (UK).

Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, William and Nellie (Peacock), as well as her dear friends, Lucy Leith and Jean Harkness.

Dorothy spent her entire career working for The Canada Life Insurance Company located in Toronto, Ontario.

She was a dedicated lifelong member of the following organizations: United Church of Canada, the UCW (United Church Women), the former Toronto CGIT (Canadian Girls in Training) Board, and Ryde Lake Camp.

JONES, Marcia Copeland   - March 7, 1928 - May 1, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother at the age of 94.

Marcia was predeceased by her husband, Barry Griffith Jones; his parents, Tom and Clara Jones; her parents, Dr. Gordon Copeland, Lucy Copeland; brother, Ted Copeland; sister-in-law, Jane Copeland; sons, Mark, Dean and David Jones.

Our beautiful Jean passed over peacefully, in her home, as per her wishes.

Beloved wife of Donald MacLean (deceased).

Jean treasured her grandchildren, Jacob and Katie (Kyle) and embraced every moment with her great-grandbabies, Caiden, Brooke, Lochlan, Atlas and Orion.

Predeceased by her mother, Thersa Williams, her brothers, Walter and Arnold, and sister, Susan (Alex).

Quinton GussieQUINTON, Gussie   - With heavy hearts, we announce that Camelia Augusta "Gussie" Quinton passed away peacefully at home, May 1, with family at her side, one day before what would have been her 90th birthday.

Dearly beloved wife of Don, her husband of 67 years; mother to Richard (Cheryl), Gordon (Marie); and grandchildren Amanda (Rick), Taylor and Zack.

She will also be sadly missed by her sisters, Margaret (Lloyd), Winn, and Anna and many adoring nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by sister, Roberta, whom she missed greatly.

Gussie had been very active in the TCW at St. Cyprian's Anglican Church and as a 25-year volunteer at North York General Hospital, all while keeping up with Aqua fit at Cummer Park Community Centre and fitness classes at Amica Bayview.

Bullick LindaBULLICK, Linda Jeanne  -  August 26, 1948 - Toronto, Ontario May 1, 2022 - Calgary, Alberta

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Linda Bullick, on Sunday, May 1, 2022, at the age of 73 years.

Linda will be forever missed by her sister Pat (Allan); nephews, Basil and Eric of Calgary; and her cousins in Ontario.

She is also survived by her close friends, Roger and Jeanne of Bridgenorth, Paul of Toronto, and Bonnie of Calgary; and many others who have been treasured by Linda.


Linda was predeceased by our mother Dorothy Switzer (2020), stepfather Basil, and father John Bullick.

Lowri ArthurLOWRIE, Arthur Everet   -  Arthur Everett Lowrie of Toronto, passed away on April 30th, at St. Mike's Hospital due to complications from Covid.

Art was social, chatty, charismatic and handsome.

He is survived by his partner of 30 years, Zulfi; his daughters, Kismet and Lee-Ann; and son-in-law, Keith.

Born in rural New Brunswick, Art considered Toronto home, having lived there for 40+ years.

Art held various management positions in telecom companies, including Unitel and CNCP Telecommunications.

Art always said that any day after 70 was a gift and he lived his life that way.

He appreciated good food, especially chocolate, and good friends, of which he had many.

Simeon MichaelSIMEON, Michael Gabriel  -   It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of Michael G. Simeon, age 92, on April 30, 2022, at Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital, after an eighteen-month battle with pancreatic cancer.

Preceded in death by his cherished wife Mary (nee Rentis), he was the loving father of Nick (Evelyn), Bill (Julie), and Christine (Steve).

He will be greatly missed by his four grandchildren, Keith, Michael, Leah and Chiara, and his beautiful great-grandchild, Anova.

Born in Sveta Petka, Greece, on January 28, 1930, to Gravre and Stavroula Simeon, he had three siblings, Tom (deceased), Peter, and Frieda, as well as many nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.

He was always a kind and sympathetic person who loved children, gardening and fixing things (for which he earned the moniker "MikeGyver").

Beck TerrenceBECK, Terrence Joseph   -  Terry passed away at the SHN Birchmount Campus, Toronto on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the age of 89 years.

Beloved husband of Josephine.

He will be sadly missed by his son Larry, stepchildren Linda, Gwyneth (Terry), Daniel, Damien, David (Kim) and Michael, and grandchildren Samantha and Lucas.

Uncle Terry will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews and their families: Paul, Daniel, Madeleine, Jeannine, Cathie, Cindy, Chris, Terry, Tommy, Mary-Kay, Ralph, D'Arcy, and Ross.

Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Margaret, brothers William and Larry, twin sister Mary, first wife Esther, son Patrick (Stella), and stepson Marc.

Pawych IrenePAWYCH, Irene (Orysia) (nee IHNATOWYCZ)   -  It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Orysia Pawych, on April 30, 2022, at the age of 88.

Beloved wife of the late George Pawych, Orysia leaves behind her cherished children Dan and Marta, sister-in-law Gloria Ihnatowycz, godsons Ian and George, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents Leontyna and Ihnat, and her brothers Osyp, Teodozij, Volodymyr, Mykola, Ivan, Orest and Danylo. 

We shall never forget her amazing optimism, fortitude, warmth and wit, as well as her beauty and extraordinary sense of style.

With her inimitable, loving presence, Orysia shined as the matriarch of the Ihnatowycz family, and she will remain in our hearts forever. 

Carroll MarkCARROLL, Mark   -   In Memoriam It is with profound sadness that the family of Mark Carroll announces his passing on April 30, 2022, at the age of 60 years.

Born and raised in Toronto, Mark attended Sir Wilfrid Laurier High School in Scarborough, successfully pursued his automotive mechanics Class "A" license, and launched his own dimensional shipment highway escort trucking business, before embarking on a career at Canadian Pacific Railway that spanned some 30 years.

Working first as an engineering employee on production gangs, Mark transferred to the Operating Department after two years, where he then worked as a Brakeman before qualifying and working as a Conductor in both freight and passenger services in Southern Ontario.

Lockhart IanLOCKHART, Ian Paterson   -  October 10, 1927 - April 30, 2022

Ian was born in Glasgow, Scotland and was very proud of his Scottish heritage.

He immigrated to Toronto in 1951, and his wife, Betty, and baby daughter, Joan, followed a few months later.

Ian worked as a manufacturing engineer, manager, and consultant until he retired.

He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed playing on courses at home and around the world.

Predeceased by his loving wife, Betty; dear friend, Anne; and son, Gary (Leslie).

PRINCE, (Margaret) Jennette  - June 9, 1939 – April 30, 2022

Jennette went to meet the ancestors peacefully, in her sleep.

FRIEDLAND, Doreen   -  Passed away peacefully, on Friday, April 29, 2022, at the age of 89.

Doreen is survived by her 3 loving daughters: Sari (Manse), Ellen (Arthur), and Lisa (David) and her grandchildren, Allison (Jules), Jackie (Brayden), Jordan (Christine) and Jake.

Her grandchildren have everlasting memories of their Bubbie, and their Papa, Sheldon Friedland, who predeceased his wife of 63 years in 2017.

HARRISON, Audrey (nee GRAYDON)   - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Audrey, on April 29, 2022, with her loving family by her side.

Beloved wife of Paul, loving mother of Andrew, Patrick (Claudia), Alexander (Lorena) and Keith (Jackie), grandmother of Ryan and Kaitlin, sister to Janet (Doug), aunt to Jessica and Netania (James) and great-aunt to Nora.

A devout Catholic, she lived a life helping others, through her work with the church and counselling practice.

WRIGHT, Marion "Marnie"  -  August 10th, 1928 – April 29th, 2022

Peacefully, at the end, with her adoring daughter, Michele, holding her hand, Marnie passed away on April 29th, at Parkview Home.

She fought a year long battle with cancer, and was tenderly cared for by the amazing Parkview staff.

Glanfield LynnGLANFIELD, Lynn   -  We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our mom, Lynn Glanfield, on April 29, 2022, in her 94th year.

Lynn was the loving Wife and best friend to the late Al Glanfield, our Dad, for 64 years.

She was a wonderful Mom to Allan (Kitty), Daniel (Donna) and Suzanne.

Loving Grandma to Julia, Allan, Matthew, Devon, Hayley and Great-Grandma to Jo, Pearl and Hattie.

Her warm smile and exuberant personality will be missed by her sister Norma, friends and family.

It is with broken hearts that we announce the tragic passing of Andrei Honciu, on Friday, April 29, 2022, at the age of 22.

Dearest son of Michaela and Leonard Honciu, loving brother of Luca Honciu.

Adored grandson, nephew, cousin, and boyfriend.

Andrei will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his many friends, classmates, soccer team, and Royal Military College (RMC) community.

Born on April 1, 2000, Andrei Honciu was raised in Galati, Romania, by his parents and grandparents.

He immigrated to Canada in 2006, where he completed his education at Milne Valley Middle School, followed by Northern Secondary School and was admitted at the RMC.

Andrei was a passionate soccer player, loved tennis and chess.

NAGAMI, Alice Akiko   - Passed away on April 29, 2022, at 84 years of age.

Predeceased by her parents Yoshikatsu and Tokiko (Teshima) Nagami.

Dear sister to the late Susumu David, Kay (late Les), May (Tony) and Ruth (Ken).

MELNITZER, Fanny (Frances) (nee WEISSGLAS)   -  Holocaust Survivor Peacefully on Thursday, April 28, 2022, her ninety-nineth birthday and Yom Hashoah.

Beloved wife of the late Sasha Melnitzer and mother of Julius (Janet), Rudy (Denise) and her late daughter, Roslyn. Devoted grandmother to Melissa, Bodhi, Dustin, Karys and Sierra, and great-grandmother to Tashy and Jamea.

Fanny survived the Holocaust along with her late sister, Nusia.

MILADINOV, Walter  -   July 5, 1935 - April 28, 2022

Passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family after a short illness.

Devoted and loving husband of Jan for 55 years.

Surminsky AlbertSURMINSKY, Albert   -   August 18, 1933 – April 28, 2022

It is with deep sorrow the family of Albert (Al) Surminsky announce his peaceful passing at the age of 88.

Al leaves behind his son Brad (Beverley) and his daughter Julie (Craig). He also leaves behind his much-loved grandchildren, Rachel, and Jack.

Al was born in Gainsborough, Saskatchewan, a little place you cannot find on a map, and was raised on the family farm in Manitoba. In 1954, Al headed east to begin his new life.

He first lived in West Toronto and then in Southwestern Ontario.

It was in Chatham, Ontario, where he met his beloved Marjorie. They were married for 64 years until her passing in September 2021.
