Hall JanetHALL, Janet "Etta" Mary (nee HUNTER)   -  Passed away with her family by her side, on April 28, 2022.

She leaves behind her best friend of 66 years husband Edwin, daughters Marie, Patricia (Richard) and Katherine, grandchildren Amanda, Jesse, Matthew and Kalean.

Janet was predeceased by her parents Robert and Margaret Hunter, sister Peggy, brother Bobby (Shirley) and brother-in-law Richard Kershaw.

She will be loved and greatly missed by Marie Kershaw, Ken and Carol Hall, nephew Bobby Hunter and many nieces and nephews.

Morra RoccoMORRA, Rocco "Tony" Antonio  -  It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Rocco "Tony" Antonio Morra, of Mississauga on the 28th of April, at the age of 62 years, after a courageous battle with cancer. 

Tony was born on December 11th, 1959, in Toronto, Ontario, although he would have told you he was born in Toronto, but "made" in Italy.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 23 years, Tina; and children Christina, Ashley, Steven (Mel), Vanessa; and grandchildren Tessa, Zoey, and Rocco; as well as numerous relatives, colleagues, and friends. 

He was a loving and dedicated son to Assunta and predeceased father Rosario, and loving brother to predeceased Carmela. 

HAMILTON, Greta (nee SAUNDERS)   -   November 24, 1929 - April 28, 2022

Passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 92 on Thursday, April 28, 2022.

Greta was a loving Wife, Mother and Nana.

Survived by her loving Husband George of 70 years.

MURRAY, Joan   -  Forever in our Hearts It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of Joan Murray on April 27, 2022.

ABE, Uno Leonard   -  The Abe family is saddened to announce the loss of Uno, who passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, in his 84th year.

Graham Hedley SharonGRAHAM–HEDLEY, Sharon Anne   - Age 72, Hazel Hill, Guysborough County, NS, passed away suddenly at home, on Wednesday, April 27, 2022.

Born in Toronto, she was a daughter of the late Charles Percival and Mary Teresa (Coyle) Waller.

Originally from Ontario, Sharon and her husband Mike fell in love with the Canso area and the people, and decided in the last few years to move there.

Sharon was involved with the Canso Lion's Club, as well as being a 40-year member of The Royal Canadian Legion, lastly being an active member of Branch 46 in Canso.

Surviving are her loving husband, Mike; daughter, Kim Hewitt, Brampton, ON; son, Donald Graham, Ontario; brothers, Brian Waller and Gerard Waller, both of Ontario; grandchildren, Selena and Dwain Hewitt, Brampton, ON.

MacTavish BrianMacTAVISH, Brian Douglas MacTavish  - 75, of Stouffville, ON, passed away in the early hours of a cold, snow-sprinkled morning, on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Sunnybrook Hospital, in Toronto.

Born in Sydney, NS, of Ada (nee Langley) and Wilbur MacTavish, on October 11, 1946, Brian was the youngest of five children.

Raised through childhood in Sydney, Brian was educated at Ashby Elementary School, Woodill Junior High School and Sydney Academy, before earning a Certificate of Applied Science from Acadia University and then a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Chemical Engineering from Nova Scotia Technical College.

After graduating, Brian began an exemplary 31-year career with Ontario Hydro/Ontario Power Generation that saw him accept two foreign assignments (South Korea '81 - '83; France '89 - '91), and ascend through increasingly senior roles, retiring as an Executive Vice President.

GOODERHAM, Susan M.   -  On April 27, 2022, after a 2-1/2 year, stubborn battle with Leukemia.

Predeceased by her parents Ann (Skelly) and Curtis Swackhammer.

She leaves her husband of 52 years, Albert, and her children Sarah and Andrew.

Corky passed away peacefully at Baycrest Hospital.

Beloved husband of the late Rita Marie Miller, father of the late Jean Miller (1997) and Robert "Bob" Miller (Tracey).

Dear papa to Jamie Sweezey (Kevin), Geoffrey Miller (Brigitte) and Krysten Andrews (Brandan).

Loving friend to Ray Warford, Carol Cluette, Cameron and Lori Fraser.

Predeceased by 1 sister and 2 brothers.

METRUNETZ, Marion  -  November 11, 1928 - April 26, 2022

Peacefully, on April 26, 2022, at Southlake Regional Hospital in Newmarket, at the age of 93.

Marion was born and raised in Toronto and was a dedicated employee of Coca-Cola until the age of 65 when she retired.

McComb RobertMcCOMB, Robert Eugene   -  March 21, 1945 - April 26, 2022

Born and raised in Toronto, the son of Clarence Aubry McComb and Emily Doris McComb (nee Walker).

Both predeceased him, as well as his brother, Albert.

Dearly loved and sadly missed by his wife of 29 years, Wendy, and her family, Rick, Barry, Penny, Kim, Jamie, and Paula, and their families.

He loved golf, sailing, the Leafs and the Raptors.

Spanton WilliamSPANTON, William   -  Sadly, we lost Bill – a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a wonderful friend, on April 26, 2022, in his 91st year.

Bill was predeceased by his parents, Russell Spanton and Hilda Knapton, brother Fred, and sister Pat.

He is survived by his younger brother, Russell. Bill and Roslyn met when they were 18, and married three years later.

The next year son Tom arrived, and was followed by daughters Linda, Sandy and Carrie.

Bill grew up in Leaside, and later started his own business there.

All the Spantons loved the summers; spending time at the cottage on Lake Scugog, with Dad driving the boat and all the kids lined up on the dock, awaiting their turn to ski.

Zadel StanZADEL, Stan (Slavko)   -  Passed away peacefully, on April 26, 2022.

Beloved husband of Marianne for over 68 years, loving father of Marilyn (Jeff) Garner and Chris, adored grandfather (Papa) of Ryan and Daniel.

Born July 14, 1930 in Mala Bukovica, Slovenia.

From humble and desperately poor beginnings, surviving unspeakable horrors in WWII as a young child/teen, his determination led him to constantly seek a better life.

Escaping on his own at age 16 to a refugee camp in Italy, where he spent a year, he was expected to work all day in rice fields in exchange for a meal – a bowl of rice.

Life was marginally better when he arrived in Belgium, where he met Marianne when he was 19.


Walsh WilliamWALSH, William (Bill) Patrick   -  Bill passed away peacefully, April 26, 2022, at Credit Valley Hospital surrounded by loved ones.

He was born October 3, 1955, in Derry, N. Ireland. 

His battle with medical issues in recent years showed courage and strength in facing life's challenges with a smile.

Despite the pain, he never lost his sense of humour and stayed positive to the end.

True to the name William, he was a fierce protector of those he loved.

Bill overcame many hardships and adversity and became a strong, positive, adventurous, fun-loving person.

NEUMANN, Lutz   - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Lutz Neumann, on April 25, 2022, after a brief battle with cancer.

Devoted husband to wife Editha, father to daughter Christina (Jim Pantzos) and proud "Opa" to grandchildren Alexandra and Nicholas.

ZEPP, Peter  -  It is with great sadness and heartfelt loss that we announce the passing of Peter Zepp at home, surrounded by love on April 25, 2022 in his 94th year.

Predeceased by his loving wife Mary (2020) of 72 years.

Devoted father of Peter (Sue) and Susan (Dave).

Arnold RaeARNOLD, Rae   - Sadly, we share that on April 25th, we lost our mom, our grandma, our great-grandma.

Rae (Eskil) Arnold died peacefully at home, her kids (Heather, Hillary and Martin) by her side, in the condo she loved, in the city she loved.

She lost Geoff, the love of her life, in January.

Rae was born in Toronto (August 10, 1933) and lived here her whole life with the exception of the time in western Ontario to attain her nursing qualifications (and meet Geoff).

Rae had a suite of qualities that made her a wonderful friend: she was a good listener, supportive, generous, and non-judgmental.

FOWLER, Shirley Ann (nee FORBES)   - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley Ann Fowler (Forbes) of Mississauga who passed peacefully on April 25, 2022, in her 88th year.

Beloved wife of Stanley Fowler.

Cherished mother of Deborah Jackson (Michael), Michael Bullions (deceased), Kelly Bullions (Christa).

Balme PatriciaBALME, Patricia (Pat) Maxine   -  After several months of declining health, Pat has left us.

Pat was predeceased by her parents, Herbert and Marguerita Balme, and her twin brother Brian.

Despite the physical sequelae from childhood polio, Pat persevered throughout her 95 years.

Pat attended Lawrence Park Collegiate Institute in Toronto, and then graduated with a B.A. from University of Toronto (Victoria College) in 1949.

This led to a successful, productive administrative career of 41 years in the Faculty of Forestry at the University of Toronto until her retirement in 1991.

Gorsic CarolGORSIC, Carol Marie Annette   -  February 10, 1932 - April 25, 2022

After living a long and illustrious life, Carol passed away on April 25th, 2022, following a long battle with cancer.

Born on February 10, 1932, in Granby, Quebec, Carol was known from childhood for her inquisitive mind and her kindness.

She was 90 years old.

Carol married her late husband, Frank Gorsic – born in Rogaska Slatina, Slovenia – in Granby 1962, and now joins him in Heaven.

They relocated just before having their two children in Toronto, and would build a home there for the ensuing decades to come – even though she would always miss the freshness of the bread in Quebec and have a soft spot for French songs.

Bentley AlanBENTLEY, Alan Raymond   -   November 9, 1943 - April 25, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Alan, who died peacefully after a long battle with brain cancer.

Alan was a loving father to Bill and Julia; brother to Randall and Marjorie; and close friend to Geraldine and Pat.

Born in Bolton, England he immigrated to Canada with his family at age 11.

Alan was a devoted family man, who was well read and held strong morals and values.

He was always keen to lend a hand, tool or advice when needed.

With great sadness we announce the passing of Mary at home on Monday, April 25, 2022, at the age of 66. 

Predeceased by parents Theresa and Sandy MacPherson.

Much loved sister of Don (Barb), Paul (late Kimberley) and Rod (Arlene).

Special and Cherished aunt of Keeley, Kelsey, Theresa, Amanda and Grant.

She was a treasured part of the "Group of 7," from Leigh's Bay Road together with her siblings and cousins, Cathy Dubois (Terry), Nancy Marshall (Henry), and Michael Lundrigan (late Pam). 

Andrighetti Luigi CoronaANDRIGHETTI, Luigi and Corona  -  Once upon a time, in Fonzaso, a little village in the mountains of Northern Italy, there lived a handsome boy and a beautiful girl.

They fell in love and were married on the snowy morning of January 23, 1960.

So began their life together: a life which would bring them to Toronto, Canada, three daughters Lucia, Angela and Florence, two sons-in-law, Jordy and Stephen and two sweet grandsons William and Lucas.

Together with Luigi's brothers and their families they made Canada their home.

Luigi found success as a hoisting engineer, even having operated the largest crane that excavated the ground for the Skydome.
