Bauman VioletBAUMAN, Violet Elizabeth   - Peacefully, at Regency Extendicare, with family by her side, on Saturday, July 24, 2021, in Port Hope, Ontario, at the age of 99.

Beloved wife of the late Russel Bauman.

Loving mother to Eric Bauman (Margaret) and the late Gaye Bauman.

Violet was born in Lansdowne, Ontario, to Lola Blanche Ferguson and Robert A. Modler.

After high school completion, she went to nurses training school at Kingston General Hospital for 3 years and graduated as a registered nurse on June 15, 1945.

On November 26th, she married the love of her life Russel Bauman.

In 1946, they had their son Eric and in 1948 they had their daughter Gaye.

BOYER, Maureen Theresa (nee BLANEY)   - It is with heavy hearts that that we report the passing of Maureen Theresa Boyer nee (Blaney).

Beloved wife of Bryan Boyer, mother of Daniel Boyer (Ania), and grandmother "Nana" to Connor Boyer and Maya Boyer.

Sister-in-law to Larry (Gloria), Bill (Colleen) Don (Leslie) and Janis Boyer Lewis (Gord).

DOWNARD, Elaine Rebecca (nee FINCH)   - Passed away peacefully at Georgian Bay General Hospital on July 24, 2021 at the age of 74.

Predeceased by her parents Leslie and Vera Finch.

Also predeceased by siblings Douglas (survived by Sandra), Dolores, and Lynn Munson (the late Richard).

JOHNSTON, Judith Catherine (nee KINGSWOOD)   -  Peacefully at Bethell Hospice on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at the age of 75.

Beloved wife of Roger Johnston for 57 years.

Miller BarbaraMILLER, Barbara Ellen (nee LEGGE)   - 1932 - 2021 With sadness, we announce the passing of Barbara on July 24, 2021, at her home in Ancaster, at the age of 89.

Predeceased by her husband, Dr. Charles Hugh Orr Miller.

Dear mother of Cameron, Ian (Tracy) and Stuart (Trudy).

Beloved grandmother of Sarah, Jessie, Katherine and Emily.

Barbara leaves behind many friends and relatives in Canada and the United States.

She had a strong connection with the Eastern Townships in Quebec, having moved to Knowlton (Lac Brome) with her husband Hugh who became the town doctor.

PATTERSON, Warren Philip   - July 23, 1950 – July 24, 2021

With unspeakable sadness, Warren, our much admired fellow traveller on life's road; lost his final battle one day after his 71st birthday.

The fight of his life began almost 5 years ago and was never-ending.

One health crisis after another was put in his path.

Starchuk JamesSTARCHUK, James Dmytro   - It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of James Starchuk. James passed away peacefully, at the age of 91, after a valiant fight against cancer, on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at the Juravinski Hospital, Hamilton.

He is survived by his beloved wife Helen with whom he shared 70 loving years of marriage together.

He will be fondly remembered and terribly missed by his children the late Gerry Starchuk, Judie Starchuk, Cathie Johnston (Rob), Karen Starchuk, and Sharon Bagot; grandchildren Geof, Lauren, Mckenzie and Garrett (and their father Robert Small), Stephanie Kuan (Konwen), Karson; and his treasured great-grandchildren Jackson, Kennedy and Miles.

James came to Ontario from Saskatchewan and built a life here for his family.

Stevenson ArthurSTEVENSON, Arthur Bruce   - 1935 - 2021  Bruce passed away peacefully, on July 24, 2021, after a life well-lived.

He leaves his wife of 60 years, Carol, a daughter Wendy (Mike) and a son Douglas (Stephanie).

He will be missed by his sister Lyn and 5 grandchildren: Stewart, Kate, Carolyn, Ashley, Lauren.

Bruce taught Biology and Chemistry for the North York Board of Education. He loved the outdoors.

When he retired he hiked in the Himalayas.

Canoeing, windsurfing, sailing, he did them all.

WILLIAMSON, Robert Burt  -  Passed away peacefully, at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket, on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at 86 years of age.

Loving husband of Donna (nee Swinbourne) and dear father to Sara Slater (Harold).

COHEN, Bryan Adam – It is with sadness that we inform you of the passing of Bryan Adam Cohen on July 23rd, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.

Bryan is survived by his loving parents Arnie and Esther Cohen, and his devoted sister Risa Cohen. He was greatly loved by his late grandparents Faye and Harold Cohen, and Lola and Harold Berger (Holocaust survivors).

FREEDMAN, Louis - On Friday, July 23rd, 2021, the sports world lost a devoted enthusiast.

Lou Freedman, a loyal Maple Leafs and Blue Jays fan left us to join his late wife Harriet, brother Jack and sister-in-law Susan.

Lou was a beloved husband, father, father-in-law & grandfather. He cherished his family, Stuart & Randi, Rich & Kate and two grandchildren Harry & Bergman. He was adored by his sister Lillian, his sister-in-law Marilyn Novack, his longtime companion Sheila Stelnick, his nieces and nephews, his caregivers Rose and Cecile, and his many friends.

Joseph ThioJOSEPH, Thio Santhio - Passed away on Friday, July 23, 2021.

He was born in Jaffna, Sri-Lanka on March 13, 1934, to Elizabeth and Thio Santhio. He was the youngest of three children. He lost his mother at the age of seven and was brought up by his father, his older sister, Salettammah and his brother-in-law Dominic Mathews.

He started his primary school at St. James school and completed his JCSE at St. Patrick’s College. He pursued his higher education at St. Joseph’s College, Tiruchirappalli, India and graduated with B.Sc. in Botany and Zoology in 1959.

He completed his post graduate degree in education from University of Peradeniya, Kandy, Sri-Lanka in 1966.

Philip MarjoriePHILIP, Marjorie Jean (nee FOX)   - Peacefully, on Friday, July 23, 2021, at Campbell House Hospice in Collingwood.

Marjorie was born in Hamilton, Ontario, on June 8, 1921, to John and Margaret Fox.

She was predeceased by her husband Prior Philip, her sister Eleanor MacKay, Prior's son Michael Philip, Prior's granddaughter Nishka Philip and her cousin Dawn Fiddes.

She is survived by her niece Anne and family, her niece Laura and family, Prior's son Sinclair and family and Dawn's family.

After studying at Hamilton Normal School, McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, the Sorbonne in Paris, France and Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont, Marjorie followed a teaching career in St. George, Brantford and Oakville, Ontario.

In 1976, Marjorie married Prior and retired to Woodland Beach, where they enjoyed travelling, bird watching, golfing and taking in the view of Nottawasaga Bay.

KACHAVOS, Christos   -  It is with great sadness that we share the news of the loss of Christos Kachavos, 87 years young.

He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Chris was a man with strong convictions and unfaltering faith who was active in his church community.

Perdue Wanda JeanPERDUE, Wanda-Jean (nee MILLAR)   - November 1, 1951 – July 23, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wanda-Jean Millar Perdue.

Wanda passed away on Friday, July 23, 2021.

Wanda is survived by her adoring husband and best friend John Perdue, survived by her loving children Kimberly and John, as well as her children-in-law, Ashley Carder and Brooke McGale.

Recently, she had become Nana to Paige Evelyn. Although, the time Wanda and Paige had together was far too short, the time they did have brought Wanda immense joy.

Paige will never know the joy and happiness she brought to her Nana. Wanda is survived by her siblings Lee-ann Smith, Sharron Day, and Robert Millar, as well as her sister-in-law and brothers-in-law Ann (Gord) Moore and Richard Perdue.

GAMBLE, Kenneth Wells  -  Passed away peacefully, at Headwaters Health Care Centre, on Friday, July 23, 2021, in his 92nd year.

Devoted husband of the late Mildred. Dear brother-in-law of Gerry (Jo) McGhee. Loving uncle of Trudy Gamble-Jacklin (Jim), Michael (Andrea), Rob and Jeremy (Carla) McGhee.

Gibbs GailGIBBS, Gail Elizabeth (nee BRAISBY)   -  It is with deep sorrow the family announces the passing of Gail Elizabeth Braisby.

Gail passed away peacefully, in her sleep, surrounded by the love of her family; at her home in Georgetown, ON in her 80th year. The beloved wife and partner in life to Charles "Charlie" Gibbs for over 58 years.

A very loving, caring mother to Elizabeth "Beth" Gibbs-Bartel and Sandra "Sandy" Boone, and mother-in-law to Roger Bartel and Ian Boone all from Toronto.

One of her greatest joys was being a proud loving grandmother to grandson Finnigan Charles Bartel.

Predeceased by her father William "Bill" Braisby, mother Florence Braisby-Wilkie and step-father Mel Wilkie. Gail precedes a brother Richard Braisby and sister Marlene Krasic.

Carroll GertrudeCARROLL, Gertrude (Trudy) Elizabeth   - Our dear mother has gone home to heaven after her battle with Alzheimer's, on Friday, July 23, 2021.

She celebrated her 82nd birthday on July 9th.

A devoted loving mother to Valerie Anne, Elizabeth Michelle and Tracey June.

A grandmother to Amanda, Nadine and Shannon who she truly cherished.

Great-grandmother to, Sienna, Mariah, Isaiah, Alijah, Jonah, Kingston and Kyrie, who she immensely treasured.

She also leaves behind her sister Mary Jane, and nephews Dwight and David.

Her name, Gertrude represents "spear" and "universal strength".

Nakamichi TedNAKAMICHI, Teruo 'Ted' - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ted on Friday, July 23, 2021 at St. Joseph's Health Center in Toronto.

He will be greatly missed by Norma, his wife of 20 years, his daughter, Tracey, son-in-law, Andy, granddaughter, Amaya, and sister, Naomi.

He is also survived by nieces and nephews, and a wonderful network of friends whom he considered family.

Ted was always relaxed, laid back, comfortable to be around, and he had a great sense of humour right to the end.

In addition, he was hard working and never hesitated when it came to helping others.

Nguyen Thi ThuNGUYEN, Thi Thu Uoc (nee TRAN)   - Peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Bridgepoint Active Healthcare, on Friday, July 23, 2021, in her 81st year.

Beloved wife of Danh Tan Nguyen.

Loving mother of Tammy (Ira), Elsie (John) and Bob (Faith).

Devoted grandmother of Carissa and Rebecca Sy; Giuseppe, Sophia and Marco Dattilo; and Isabel and Evelyn Nguyen.

Thi immigrated to Canada with her husband and three children in 1975, following the end of the Vietnam War.

Previously a teacher and flight attendant in Vietnam, she retrained as a nurse in Canada and worked at the Riverdale Hospital – the predecessor to Bridgepoint.

Briggs ArthurBRIGGS, Arthur Gordon - (1951 - 2021) - On July 23rd, 2021, our brilliant friend, beloved father, and devoted husband, Arthur Gordon Briggs, left us suddenly and unexpectedly at Southlake Regional Hospital in Newmarket, ON.

Art was magnetic and hilarious, crotchety and kind, he was absolutely perfect. He gave us a thousand reasons to laugh and a few reasons to grumble too. He loved a good grumble.

His last years were rich, wildly happy, and full of love. He listened to great music, drank mediocre Starbucks coffee, and took long walks with his beautiful wife, Debbie, and his awful (but much adored) dog Eddie.
