STATLER, Sandra - Sandra passed away on December 6, 2022, surrounded by the love of family and friends.
She is survived by her brother, Paul (Pat); her niece, Lynda (Andrew); her nephew, Ron (Mary); her nephew, Greg (Sylvia); and her four great-nieces, Julie, Dylan, Holly, and Ella.
She was predeceased by her great-nephew, Michael, on August 13, 2021; and her sister, Aynne, on April 2, 2011.
Sandra was a primary teacher with the Toronto District School Board at Christie, Regent Park Junior, and Brown Schools. Her life was enriched by the children and by their families.
From 1970-72 she was on loan to the Department of National Defence, teaching in Lahr, Germany.

SUTKA, Mihaly - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mihaly Sutka, on December 6, 2022, at the age of 80, at St. Joseph's Health Center.
He succumbed to chronic health conditions, worsening over the past year, but he courageously carried on daily till his being called back to Our Lord on the Feast of St. Nicholas.
He was predeceased by his parents, Mihaly Sutka Sr. and Klara Sutka (nee Kovacs); and his wife, Zsuzsanna Sutka (nee Kulcsar).
He is survived by his sons, (Fr.) John, and Michael.
Born in Csengele, Hungary, his family moved to Erd in the late 1950's.
He graduated from Josef Atilla Gymnasium in Budapest, 1961, and afterwards completed an Agricultural degree.

PINCHEN, Lorna Frances - 1932 - 2022 Lorna Pinchen passed away on December 6, 2022, at the age of 90.
She will be rejoining her parents, Albert and Muriel Pinchen; and brother, Raymond Pinchen.
Lorna was unique, to know her was to love her.

POPOWYCZ, Anna - Born on January 20, 1923 in Zhytomyr Oblast, Ukraine.
It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our cherished mother, Anna Popowycz, on December 5, 2022, at Trillium Health Centre, Mississauga, surrounded by her loving family.
She lived a long and fulfilling 99 years, only months away from reaching 100.

PURVES, Donald West - November 22, 1931 - December 5, 2022
Our motorcycle loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Donald West Purves of Alliston and formerly Toronto, passed away peacefully in Brockville on December 5, 2022, at the age of 91.
He will be lovingly remembered by his high school sweetheart and wife of 68 years, Phyllis Mary (nee Pope); his children, Wendy (Mark), Cathy (Calvin), and Brian (Angie); his grandchildren, Lianne, Christopher, Brandon and Shannon; and his three great-grandchildren.
Don was predeceased by his parents, Ross and Cornelia; and his much-adored older brother, Alan.
Don was a top-tier salesman and marketer throughout his colourful career in the printing industry.

TAYLOR, Audrey May - Audrey May Taylor passed away peacefully, at the Toronto Western Hospital, on Monday, December 5, 2022.
Audrey was 99 and was born in Toronto on June 30, 1923.
She was a dedicated provincial civil servant with the Ministry of the Attorney General and a longtime member of Wychwood-Davenport Presbyterian Church.
She was predeceased by her loving parents, Mary (May) Townsley and William John Taylor both of Belfast, Northern Ireland.
She will be fondly remembered by her cousins, Audrey and June, of Northern Ireland.
To her relatives and many friends she was their special "Aunt Audrey" and will be dearly missed.

CRITELLI, Mary - Passed away on Monday, December 5th, at home, with family members present.
Mary is survived by her husband of 33 years, Maurice Mazerolle; her two sons, Sam and Nick; and her cat, Bella.
She would have turned 71 on December 14th. Born in Toronto, she was the daughter of Salvatore and Primetta Critelli, who were originally from Pentone, which is in Calabria, Italy. Mary grew up on Symington Avenue in Toronto's west end, close to many of her cousins.
Mary was a graduate of the University of Toronto, as well as Osgoode law school at York University. While she had her own practice on St. Clair Avenue, she worked at Rosenberg-Smith for several years before working at Delzotto Zorzi law firm, until her retirement in 2018.
Mary loved to read, paint, walk, Tai Chi, travel, and of course, spend time with her family and friends.

KRAY, Nicolas "Nick" John Kray - Of Toronto, died suddenly on December 5, 2022, at the age of ninety.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Elsie; sister, Caroline Krajacic; daughter, Jennifer Massey; sons, Jarret Kray and Jansen Kray; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

CHUBB, William "Bill" - June 2, 1942 - December 4, 2022
The Chubb family is saddened to announce the loss of Bill, who passed away peacefully on December 4, 2022, in his 80th year.
Proud father to Christine; loving partner to Lena Belanger; and beloved brother-in-law to Arlene.
Bill will also be dearly missed by his nephew, Drew; and many dear friends.
Bill was predeceased by his beloved wife, Dorothy; and his sister, Sandy (Dave).
A great lover of sports, Bill was a longtime member of the Granite Club and the Don Mills Tennis Club.

CATALANO, Joseph Anthony - Joseph Anthony Catalano, 88, of Toronto, Ontario, passed away peacefully, on December 4, 2022.
He was born to parents, Leonardo and Maria Catalano, on January 14, 1934, in Toronto, Ontario.
He was married to Denise (née Mole) on October 11, 1975. Joe is survived by wife, Denise; sons, Michael and Charles; brother, William (Lois) Catalano; and sister, Frances (Bill) McLaughlin.
Joe was predeceased by parents, Leonardo and Maria Catalano; and sister, Kay (Leonardo) Catalano. Joe was known for his love of woodworking, photography, and bowling.
He retired from the TTC as a bus driver in 1999 after over 31 years. He was characterised for his never-ending patience, faith, strong work ethic, and love of family.

VRANIC, Berto - Berto Vranic was born into a loving Croatian family on June 23, 1940, in the former Yugoslavia.
He was the sixth of nine children born to Ivo Vranic and Antonia Rolih. Towards the end of WWII, when Berto was only four, the family fled with many other refugees to Austria, and later to Italy.
Then, in 1948, they were accepted as refugees into Argentina, where they settled in Lujan, outside of Buenos Aires.

ELWOOD, Norman - 94, died peacefully December 3, 2022, at Runnymede Hospital in Toronto.
Norm was born October 12, 1928, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, to Robert Elwood and Louisa Gowdy In 1952, Norm was part of the original technician team that put the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation on the air.
During his 40-year career at the CBC, Norm worked part-time as the House Projectionist for the Canadian head office of Warner Brothers Pictures - which he continued until age 84!

FORESTELL, Michael "Mike" - December 14, 1930 - December 3, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Michael "Mike" Forestell on December 3, 2022, at the age of 91, a few days shy of his 92nd birthday.
He was the dearly beloved husband of 59 years to Edith Caroline Forestell (Coates), and a loving father to Carol Putt (Phillip) and Julie Stewart (Kenneth).
May he be the guardian angel to his grandsons, Drew, Nathan and Braeden.
Michael will be lovingly remembered by his family and many friends in the Toronto area and his hometown of Marmora, where he spent many days at the family cottage where he enjoyed the "million-dollar view."
We will cherish all that he brought to our lives, his love and his strong Catholic faith.

SIMON, Alana Miriam - The family of Alana Miriam Simon shares, with deep sadness, the news of Alana's passing, on Saturday, December 3, 2022.
Alana was 52.
Alana is survived by her parents, Norm Simon and Mary-Jane Holton Simon; her brother, Rand Simon and sister-in-law, Laurel Galt, niece, Maeve Simon, nephew, Hayden Simon; and cousins, Julie Grossman, Tammy Gonsalves and Kennedy O'Brien.
She was predeceased by her first adoptive mother, Myrna Simon; her birth mother, Wendy Hunt; and her grandparents, Lloyd and Barbara Hunt; Harry and Eva Simon; Mitch and Mary Dalkin; grandmother, Andre Holton; aunt, Patsy O'Brien; uncle, Moishe Simon; and aunt, Joyce Gordon.
Alana was intensely proud of the War record of Grandpa Hunt and she relished the time spent with him recounting his stories and joining him on European trips to herald his war-time bravery.

Audrey was the loving and dedicated wife of Ronald Desrocher for 67 years.
Dear mother of Michael (Debbie) of Brampton and Janine Desrocher of Waterloo.
Loving grandmother of Elizabeth (Wes) and Bryan (Jen), Jenna (Max) and Michael (Amber); great-grandmother of Jayden, Audrey, Brooke and Gracie.
Audrey loved literature, and being a published author was one of her proudest moments.

FINKELSTEIN, Sidney Finkelstein - Passed away on December 1, 2022, just short of his 90th birthday.
He will be sorely missed by his soulmate,
Leah, his wife of 67 years.
He was the devoted father and father-in-law of Joel Finkelstein and Paula Schipper, Judy and David Snider and Richard and Michelle Finkelstein.
He was blessed with eight grandchildren, and one great-grandson: Cory, Jessica, Dinah, Tara, Sam, Ellie, Emma, Alyssa and Noah.
He is survived by his sister, Frances Marshall.
