Charleboie RitaCHARLEBOIS, Rita Claire (Seguin) - It is with great sadness that the family announce her passing after a brief illness on Friday, August 3, 2018 at Markham Stouffville Hospital.

Rita was predeceased by her husband of more than 50 years, Dr. Peter Charlebois, her sister Jeanette and brothers Raymond and Hector.

She will be greatly missed by her sister, Yvette M. Clark, and her many nieces and nephews.

Born on the family farm in Dalkeith, Ontario, Rita spent her formative years in Ottawa where she attended the University of Ottawa earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry. It was here that she met her future husband.

On graduating, Rita and Peter moved to Toronto where they passed the balance of their years. Hired as the organization’s first female laboratory analyst, Rita had a long and distinguished career as a forensic toxicologist at the Ontario Centre for Forensic Sciences where she specialized in blood alcohol. A dedicated and well-known expert in her field, Rita was widely respected amongst judges, lawyers and police offices in the Province.

On retiring from public service, she embarked on an equally successful career in the private sector, running her own forensics business.

The funeral will be held at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Markham, Ontario at 10:30 AM on Saturday, 11th August. Burial will be in Iroquois, Ontario later that day.
