Altilia AnneALTILIA, Anne Adelaide (neé Coppolino)  -  (August 10, 2018)  -  In her 92nd year, Anne passed peacefully.

Living each day with purpose and laughter, her love for her family and friends was immense and always evident.

She leaves us with the lasting gift of having been cherished by her, as she was cherished by her husband of 62 years Joseph Altilia (predeceased); children, Andrew (Maria), Nancy (Benoît), Denise (predeceased), and Carol; Grandchildren Tristan, Rhiannon, Julien and Bianca;  siblings Fortunata, Yolanda (predeceased), and Andrew, and life-long friends Emanuella and Elaine.

Guided by the tenets of her faith, she departs having affected many with her kindness and generosity.  She will be remembered as tireless, always in motion. She worked as an architectural draughtsman first, the bookkeeper for the family business for many years, a volunteer at her church, a salesperson in a fabric shop to support one of her favourite activities, sewing.
Bowling was a favourite sport, but so was competitive grocery shopping. The competitors were her mother, sisters and girlfriends. They frequently traded bragging rights, and always shared the spoils of the best food secured at the best price—an unmatched shopping cooperative. Anne hosted weekly family dinners, with children and grandchildren. Food was always overly abundant and always followed by take-home meal packages for her cooking-challenged children.
For decades, Anne and Elaine prepared for Christmas by running a cookie operation that could put a commercial bakery to shame. Hundreds of treats that we would wrestle each other for when she presented the tray. A lovely, kind and gentle person with a ready wit, she had a no-nonsense approach to everything. Her unwavering dedication to family has left us with warm hearts.

The family would like to thank the staff at Hollandview Trail and Bloomington Cove care facilities for their care, compassion and support.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 15th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Marshall funeral home, Richmond Hill. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 16th at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 14485 Jane Street, King City. Cremation.

For those who wish, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
