Mills DonaldMILLS, Donald  -  Born July 10th, 1932 and died peacefully at home on September 15th, 2018 at the age of 86. Deeply loved and only child of Oliver Mills and Ethel Higham in Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire, England.

He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 33 years Brenda Spencer.

He is also survived by his children Eric (Anna), Ryan (Pam), Peter, Nic (Vera), Elizabeth, Stephen (Mary), and his loving grandchildren Kieran, Aidan, Liam, Donovan, Bradley, Connor, Jayden, Gemma, Nikki, Simone, Patrick, Kate, and Jack.

He will also be greatly missed by the extended Spencer family and those close to him.

Donald was gifted with a brilliant mind which grew throughout his education at Manchester Grammar School, The University of Manchester, and University of Toronto where he earned a PhD in metallurgy. Don came to Canada in 1957 and worked at AECL and Ontario Hydro where he completed his career as the Director of Research. He loved racing cars, hockey, baseball, rugby, cooking, and good wine. His favorite places were the cottage at Lake Nipissing, West Lake, and anniversaries each year in Barbados. His favorite quote is from Hamlet: Act 1, Scene 3, Lines 56 to 81.

We will gather to remember him on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. Philip’s Anglican Church, 31 St. Phillips Rd., Etobicoke. Refreshments will be served.

In lieu of flowers a donation may be considered to the Department of Anatomy at University of Toronto or a charity of your choice.
