Ritchie DugaldRITCHIE, A. Dugald Neil  -  (June 22, 1944 - September 15, 2018)  -  In Toronto, surrounded by his loved family, Dugald died peacefully in the hospital of kidney failure. Son of the late General Sir Neil and Lady Ritchie (nee Catherine Minnes).

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Liz) (nee Birkett); his children Pamela Ritchie Levitt (Howard), and Neil Ritchie (Jodi Wright); and his sister Anne Ritchie. Proud grandfather of Wren, Alessandra and Sarah Levitt; and of Blair and Tommy Ritchie; with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Dugald had a celebrated 51-year career as an Investment Advisor and Vice-President at RBC Dominion Securities.  He will be remembered through his boarding student days at St. Andrew’s College, and as a fast-moving sports enthusiast of squash and tennis at the Badminton and Racquet Club, of golf at the Toronto Golf Club, of salmon fishing on the Bonaventure River in the Gaspe, and, happily plowing through the waters of the Thousand Islands in Gananoque.  A somewhat disheveled organizer and master delegator of many social events, Dugald had many friends, and especially loved his Wren House and Austin Terrace traditions. Loved all the gossip.  He will be sorely missed by his family, and as an unpretentious, fun-injecting and fiercely loyal friend to a multitude.

Special thanks to his dedicated team of wonderful caregivers in the last one and a half years - Rowena, Elsa, Cris, Mylanie and Annalise.

The family will receive friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles – Newbigging Chapel, Toronto, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 27th. We will gather to celebrate his life on Friday, September 28th at 11:00 a.m. in Timothy Eaton Memorial Church, 230 St. Clair Avenue West.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be considered to Beverley School on Baldwin Street in Toronto, a school for children with special needs in honour of Dugald’s granddaughter, Alessandra; or to the Toronto General Hospital.
