WISTON, Robert Joseph - It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Joseph "Bob" Swiston announces his passing after a valiant and courageous struggle with severe quadriplegia, on December 18, 2017, at the age of 76.
Beloved husband of Ruth Regester of 34 years.
Dearly remembered by his twin brother Frank (Karen) Swiston, his nephew David (Effy) Swiston (Elizabeth) and by his niece Susan (Peter) Coates (Serena, Zachary).
Bob was a proud, retired employee of Consumers' Gas/Enbridge and in his spare time, he combined his love of woodworking with garden railroading.
Bob will be deeply missed by family and friends. We will treasure our memories of his feisty determination, tremendous courage and ever-present sense of humour.
The family acknowledges the wonderful care Bob received from VON, Nucleus and Care Partners allowing him to remain at home during his declining years.
A Celebration of Bob's Life will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2018, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM at 2942 Inlake Court, Mississauga, ON, in lieu of a funeral.
