McAnally MaudMCANALLY, Maud Elizabeth - December 24, 1932 - October 30, 2018.

Born on Christmas Eve 1932 in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Maud Elizabeth was the first of six children born to William and Sarah Thompson. At the age of fourteen, Maudie accepted Jesus Christ as her Saviour at the Felt Street Mission Hall in Belfast. Not long afterwards, Maudie met Samuel McAnally and the two began courting. On September 20, 1952, Maudie and Sam were married at the age of nineteen.

In the years to follow, God blessed Maudie and Sam with their two children, David and Margaret. Maudie was a faithful wife and loving mother, always looking after her family. Maudie worked as a stitcher in a handkerchief factory before becoming a healthcare aid and working with the elderly in a variety of nursing homes.

In November 1988, Sam and Maudie moved from Northern Ireland to join their children and their families in Ontario, Canada. Here, Maudie continued her work with the elderly in Bethany Lodge nursing home where she lovingly cared for many precious souls. Maudie faithfully shared the good news of the gospel and unashamedly told others of their need of Jesus Christ to save them from their sin. Maudie’s heart for others was evident in the way she selflessly looked after her family and the elderly people she worked with. Maudie often stayed past her work hours to sit with those who were ill and had no family to be there with them. She also enjoyed being at church with the family of God and worshipped for many years as a member of Toronto Free Presbyterian Church.

Maudie will be dearly missed by her beloved husband, Sam, her children David and Margaret, her grandchildren Kerry, Jonathan, Courtney, Sarah, Samantha, Robert and Rebekah, and great grandchildren Aaron, Samuel, Hailey, Callum, Alana and Liam. Likewise, she will be missed by countless other extended family and friends who knew and loved her.

Our peace is found in the truth that our Nanny has gone to Heaven to be with her Saviour, Jesus Christ, and all who trust in Him will see her again.

Visitation will be held at Dixon - Garland Funeral Home, markham on November 1st from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. the service will take place at Toronto Free Presbyterian Church, 1600Neilson Rd, scarborough ON on November 2nd at 12:00 pm. Interment at Markham.

“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life:
he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.”
