Rotenberg GeraldROTENBERG, Gerald Norton - Peacefully on Friday, November 2, 2018.

Predeceased by his loving wife Rita and his parents Sam and Belle Rotenberg.

He is survived by his brother Barry.

He was a devoted father and father-in-law of Irwin Rotenberg and Ann Leese, and Lawrence Rotenberg and Paula Afanador.

Cherished grandfather of Graham, Sara, and Sophia.

Born and raised in Toronto, Gerald was not only a good student but also a gifted athlete in both track and field and baseball, highlighted by representing Canada at the 1948 Junior Olympics in Cleveland as part of the 4 X 100 relay team. Christie Pitts was a second home to him winning several O.B.A. championships and awards. As an adult, tennis became his game which he continued to excel at well into his eighties.

Gerald was a pharmacist and had a long career as a medical editor. He was responsible for the creation and guiding the Compendium of Pharmaceuticals and Specialties (C.P.S.) through its formative years. He edited countless articles, chapters and books, including Readers Digest Guide to Prescription, and OTC Drugs, which sold over 200,000 copies. He was inducted by the C.P.H.A. as an Honorary Life Member in 2002.

We will miss his intense love of sports, remarkable writing and speaking prowess and happy, sunny disposition. Keep smiling "Ger".

The family wants to thank the caring people on the second floor of Sunrise of Thornhill for how well they treated Gerald.

Service will be held at Temple Sinai, 210 Wilson Avenue on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. Interment in the Temple Sinai section of Pardes Shalom cemetery. Shiva at 30 Greenfield Avenue, Apt. #2206, Toronto.
