Furlong HannaFURLONG, Helen Margarite “Hanna” - Passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018.

'Hanna' to the Furlong boys Tim, Brian and John, as well as great nephews and niece Riley, Maeve and Aidan.

Cherished as Auntie Helen to the Wiley clan of Mary, Paul, Judy, Chris, Joe and Helen, as well as Wiley great nephews and nieces Nick, Ben and Ann (Lavallee), Sarah (Trevitt), Andrew, Eric and Victoria (Wiley) and Julia, Laurie and Mary (Quinton) along with great, great nephews Scott and Thomas.

Predeceased by her brother Harry (Helen) and sister Ruth (Bud).

Helen lived a full life from Ingersoll to Germany to Toronto where she made her home for the past 50 years. Helens life was made complete by the love she held for children and they for her. As a primary grade teacher and then Librarian for her career of over 40 years with the Toronto Catholic Board Helen touched and enhanced the lives of countless children with her love of reading and the simple things in life to be thankful for.

Of equal importance to Helen was her faith in Christianity and the Catholic Church and the strength it provided her for life’s inevitable challenges.

I know if auntie Helen were alive today she would also want to thank all those that helped her in the AA program.

Helens creativity for sculpturing came later in life and those of us that are lucky enough to possess a piece of her work will cherish it and the memories of her for the rest of our lives. We all loved our aunt deeply and thank her for the special role she played in our lives.

The funeral mass will take place at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 3526 Sheppard Avenue East, Scarborough on November 13th at 11:00 AM.
