Dodd MichaelDODD, Michael (Mike) Edward  -  Surrounded by his loving family, Mike passed away peacefully on January 15, 2019, in Mississauga at the age of 69.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 35 years, Patricia, his children, Stephen, Jessica, and Alycia, and daughter-in-law Jessie.

He retired from Canadian Standards Association after 37 years as Program Manager - Occupational Health and Safety.

He loved two things in life apart from his family, riding his motorcycle and using his hands to create things. Mike loved riding and planning trips with Patricia, and had a big smile no matter where he went with her. He also was able to ride with many friends, throughout Canada and the US. He was able to fashion any old piece of wood into something jaw-dropping, or create intricate cakes from scratch. His belief that you must put 100% effort into anything worth doing was evident throughout his work and hobbies, and he imparted that wisdom on his children as well.

Finally, Mike loved to travel, and was lucky enough to travel to such diverse places as going to Stonehenge, the Grand Canyon, Gangnam in Seoul, a safari in South Africa, seeing the forbidden city in Beijing, seeing the holy land in Israel, among many others. His favourite though, was completing the Alaska Highway with Stephen, driving throughout Northern BC, Yukon, and Alaska in 2015, as it brought back memories of a road trip across Canada he and his brother completed in 1974.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the Cancer Care team at Mississauga Hospital, especially Dr. Cindy Quinton and Dr. Justin Chopra, and all of the nurses that took care of him during his care.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 20, 2019 at The Simple Alternative, 1535 South Gateway Rd, Mississauga, ON, from 1pm to 5pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to either the Canadian Cancer Society or Trillium Health Partners, Cancer Care.
