BEATTIE, Rev. Neil Douglas - In his 95th year, went to be with His Lord and Saviour on January 14, 2019, peacefully at his home in Brampton.
He was a devoted husband to Marian, his wife of 67 years, and was much loved by his children, Ina (Ted O'Brien), John (Melanie), Ardith (Geoff Dunlop), Neil Daniel and Mark, his grandchildren, Amanda (Martin Davis) and Edward Andrew O'Brien, Stefanie, Matthew (Roxanne) and Samantha Beattie, Caely, Lauren and Geoffrey Dunlop, and his great-grandson Caleb Davis.
Rev. Beattie was born in Niagara Falls and, after a colorful early career, including stints as a circus barker and award-winning insurance agent, he entered the ministry and served the Lord in pastorates in Nova Scotia, Manitoba and Ontario, before retiring from Mimico Baptist Church.
He was predeceased by his siblings Mae (Lewis), Grace, Jack and Joyce (Robinson) and will be remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews, and his sister-in-law, Isabel Hardy.
The family is very grateful for the excellent care given to both our parents by their wonderful caregiver, Mabelle Neluna, and our brother, Mark, as well as a dedicated team of personal support workers.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
