GOLIS, Andrew "Andy"   - Retired Contract Manager with AFG 

On Saturday, January 5, 2019, after a lengthy illness at the Joseph Brant Hospital.

Andy, in his 84th year, beloved husband of Marlene (nee Eddles) for 50 years.

Predeceased by his parents Constantine and Chrysse Golis, sisters Georgia Taylor, Jean van Eck.

Survived by three nieces, four great-nieces, and one great-nephew and his many cousins in Edmonton. Andy was born in Lethbridge, Alberta.

He attended the University of British Columbia, where he played Varsity Football. After University, Andy started a career with Pilkington Glass that continued with subsequent changes to ownership over the years.

His 35 year career took him to cities such as Calgary, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Vancouver, and Winnipeg. Andy loved playing golf and cheering on the Blue Jays, amongst many other teams.

He was an avid gardener who loved walking great distances every day. He will be missed for his work ethic, kindness, generosity, exuberant optimism and his ability to make people feel special.

Andy enjoyed going to Naples, Florida during the winter the last 20 years. Many thanks to the many Nurses and Doctors that cared for Andy during his time at Joseph Brant Hospital. Cremation has taken place.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Dodsworth & Brown Funeral Home, 2241 New St. (at Drury Lane), Saturday, January 26, 2019, at 3 p.m.
