ADIE, Joyce - Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 9, 2019 in her 87th year.
She is now reunited with her husband James (Jim).
Loving mother of Donna (Paul) and Paul (Grazina). Cherished grandmother of Kent and Lukas.
Joyce will be greatly missed by many family members and friends.
Joyce was born and raised in Toronto during the Depression and then war years. After her school years, she began working for the Toronto Police in the summons office. She married, raised two children and then returned to the provincial court system, eventually becoming Administrator of the Metro East Provincial Court.
Upon retirement, she renewed her love for shelties, and aptly named her new dog, “Justice." In her retirement she also enjoyed travel with her husband Jim, and many activities with the Harmony Hall seniors centre.
In her later years, she attended Victoria Park United Church until she moved into a retirement residence closer to her children.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 14th from 2pm-4pm and on Monday, July 15th from 10 am – 11 am with the funeral service to follow in the chapel at 11 am at Jerrett funeral home (660 Kennedy Rd. Scarborough). Burial will be held at St. John’s Norway Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Joyce may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
