Freeland RuthFREELAND, Ruth Evelyn (Ogier) - October 20, 1928- July 10, 2019 - Finally home with Gordon, her beloved husband and her Lord on July 10, 2019 at the age of 90.

Reunited with her parents Lois and Bert Ogier.

Dear mother of Wendy (Terry), Debbie (Don), David (Dale) and Beth (Brad).

Cherished grandmother of Sean, Ryan (Carly), Stephanie (Nigel), Matthew, Rebecca, Nathan (Hanna), David Jr., Kristyn, Michael Joel, Ben, Josh (Kayla), Charissa and Angela.

Dearest great grandmother to Abraham, Oakley and Sophie.

Lovingly remembered by her brother David (Audrey).

Ruth will also be greatly missed by nieces, nephews and many friends, former church members within pastorate and community circles: Long Branch Baptist Church, Bethel Baptist Church, Richview Baptist Church, Erin Mills Baptist Church and the Holland Christian Homes community.

Ruth devoted herself to the pursuit of excellence as a wife, mother, grandmother, pastor’s wife and nurse. As a woman of godly character, Ruth modeled remarkable strength and dignity that was only surpassed by her deep compassion for others.
Mom impacted and touched so many lives with her strong faith and caring support. Together with Dad, they were used of God to be a tremendous blessing to their family and church families alike. They complemented each other beautifully in service for their Lord.

One of Mom’s favorite sayings when responding to appreciation from family was to utter “It’s team!”, constantly deflecting attention away from herself. Mom intentionally planted her love for the Lord and His Word within her children and grandchildren. We knew her to be a woman of incredible emotional strength, resilience and resolve. As a faithful prayer warrior for family and friends, we knew we were deeply cared for and supported. Since Dad’s passing earlier this year, Mom longed to be home with the love of her life, Gordon. As family, we were constantly inspired by her courage and strength in the face of dementia for over 10 years.

Mom, your life was a blessing. Your memory a treasure. You are loved and missed beyond words.

The family wishes to express their deep appreciation for the loving care and support provided to Mom for almost ten years by the staff and volunteers at Holland Christian Homes.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, July 20 in Heritage Hall at 11 am. A reception will immediately follow the service in Horizon Hall, Holland Christian Homes. 7900 McLaughlin Rd. Brampton, ON L9Y 5A7

For those who wish, memorial donations to Holland Christian Homes would be appreciated by the family.
