Casey JosephCASEY, Joseph John - Joseph John Casey passed away peacefully on Monday, August 5, 2019 in his 85th year.

Loving husband of the late Margaret (nee Auchincloss), beloved father of Anna Marie (David Bresolin), Brenda Casey, Christopher (Janet), and Patrick.

A proud Poppa Joe to Katie (Ryan Bodzenski), Brittany Hughes, Hayden Casey, Daniel Bresolin, Alexzena Bresolin and Madison Casey. Great Poppa Joe to Raelynn and Camden Bodzenski.

Joseph was a lifelong resident of York Region. Born in King Township in 1935, living on Casey family land until 1998 when he moved to Aurora. His professional career started in farming and then transitioned into landscaping many local estates. In the 1970s, Joseph entered the field of real estate and passionately pursued this career for over 35 years.

During the 1950s, Joseph joined his father and siblings to help build the original Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Aurora. He went on to help establish the Knights of Columbus Council in Aurora, later serving as Grand Knight. In 2007, Joseph received an Honorary Life Membership with the Knights.

Joseph was predeceased by his parents Charles and Anna (nee O’Leary) and siblings Vincent, Eileen (Ken Lynett), Joan (Michael Caplice), Edward and Denis. Survived by sisters-in-law Arlene Penny, Denise Casey and Brigid Casey, and by Jo-Ann (Michael Gillard), William Auchincloss, Teresa Auchincloss, and Patricia (Patrick Doyle). Uncle Joseph will be remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Joseph will be missed by his many Casey and O’Leary cousins, dear friends and business associates.

Visitation will be held at the Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora, on Friday August 9 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be at Our Lady Of Grace Church, 15347 Yonge Street, Aurora on August 10th at 10 a.m. followed by reception at Thompson Funeral Home from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada, Southlake Regional Hospital or Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
