MALIK, Norma (nee Calma) - It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Norma Malik in her 77th year.
She died on Monday August 12, 2019 surrounded by her loving and devoted family at home.
Born in Arayat in Pampanga, Philippines, Norma was the youngest of six siblings.
Following her father’s passing, she came to Toronto, Canada in 1966 to further her career and start a new life.
Norma then met Tahir at the Toronto Eaton Centre, married him, and enjoyed a happy marriage lasting more than 40 years. Norma was predeceased by her loving husband, Tahir, in 2018.
She is survived by her daughter Farah (Richard), son Nayyer (Leigh Beth), and grandchildren Elyse, Tracy, Nathaniel and Julian Jaxon.
Norma will be remembered for her steely determination, hard-working nature, her love of jazz music, pursuit of adventure and her unwavering faith in the Lord.
Visitors will be received at Taylor Funeral Home, Newmarket, ON, on Friday August 16, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A brief eulogy will be delivered at 12:30 p.m. A graveside funeral service will be held immediately thereafter at 2:00 p.m. at Newmarket Cemetery, followed by a reception with refreshments at the funeral home.
