Lane SaraLANE, Sara Edith (née Olah Sara) - Born October 8,1925 of Szeged, Hungary. Passed away August 14, 2019.

Daughter of the late Julianna and Lajos Olah of Szeged, Hungary. Dear mother of Sarah (David) and Alexander (Eusene).

Beloved grandmother of AnnaJulia Yates, Catrina Lane, Brianna Lane and Andrew Yates.

Sister of the late Sandor Olah and Miklos Olah of Szeged, Hungary.  Sister-in-law of Olah Anna of Hungary and aunt, great-aunt and cousin to the Olah family in Hungary.

Sara grew up with her loving family in Szeged, Hungary, then worked as a pharmacist for many years in Budapest. She left Hungary at the time of the revolution, passing through Austria and Italy, eventually arriving as a refugee in Canada in December of 1957.

She lived in Toronto, St. Catharines, and London, Ontario. She worked as a pharmacist, both at Toronto Sick Children’s Hospital as well as at the pharmacies she owned. In Toronto she was the proud owner of Metro Drugs on Avenue Road, where for many years she served people with warmth, kindness, and compassion.

Most recently, she lived in the same house in Toronto for 43 years. She loved to crochet, read, solve puzzles and paint. The paintings she left behind will be treasured by her family. She played the piano beautifully and taught her grandchildren Hungarian songs on the piano.

As she used to always say to her family, “I love you forever and maybe more”.

Memorial service will be held at RS Kane funeral home, 6150 Yonge St. on Sunday August 25th at 11:00 a.m.
