Mahy KenMAHY, Ken - After facing challenging treatments for leukemia with a grateful and hopeful spirit, Ken passed away early December 9, 2019, leaving us all with a deep feeling of peace for him.

Loved forever by his wife, Beth, cherished children and grandchildren, Kristi, Dale and Kai, Caitlin, Arron, Elora and Avey, siblings, Linda, Doug and Chris, and many loyal friends.

Family and friends remember Ken as a gentle person, a great listener, storyteller and patient teacher in his work as an IT professional and with his family.

His humour and wit could bring laughter to many situations. Through his own experiences with depression, he became a very compassionate support for others.

In his early days at St. George’s Anglican Church in Willowdale, Ken was leader of the Quaesitories Youth Group and Dragon’s baseball team, member of Ransomed and church Verger.

Ken’s enjoyment of music included playing clarinet at Northmount JHS and playing folk music on his guitar.

He graduated in 1975 from the University of Toronto Civil Engineering and then trained at Seneca College in Computer Programming.

Ken enjoyed coaching and playing hockey and was an avid Blue Jays and Dodgers baseball fan.

Throughout his life, Ken captured beautiful moments for many with his camera, creating lasting memories for family and friends. He particularly loved photographing weddings and children.

Ken enjoyed time in our yard; gardening, composting, carpentry projects and creating a welcoming habitat for birds.

Ken kept in touch on social media with friends including colleagues from NYBE, TDSB and NYNTRA.

Ken will be forever remembered as a loving, loyal and devoted husband, father, “Grandpa” and friend.

Grandpa, we will never forget you.

As an expression of sympathy, and in lieu of flowers, donations to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre or Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation would be appreciated.
