Prezioso AlfonsoPREZIOSO, Alfonso - Age 81, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Thursday, January 9, 2020.

Alfonso is survived by his wife, Angela Prezioso, his daughter, Maria Cirignano and her spouse, Vilmo Cirignano, and his two granddaughters Daniela and Vanessa Cirignano.

At the age of eight years old, Alfonso Prezioso began to apprentice the art of tailoring. His passion for impeccable craftsmanship emerged from Alfonso’s uncle Guiseppe, who was regarded as one of Naples’ finest tailors.

Alfonso quickly grasped the basics of hand sewing and aimed to apply those techniques in tailoring school showcasing his immense creativity and passion through the production of beautiful garments.

Shortly after, Alfonso was scouted by Italian military forces for his notable skills. He worked tirelessly, mending fabric and altering uniforms for soldiers and military officers until the 1950s, when he decided to open his own tailoring shop in Prato, a small town located outside of the city of Florence, Italy.

In 1964, Alfonso courageously decided to seek out new opportunities and decided to immigrate to Canada with the love of his life, Angela Prezioso.

While on the surface, Alfonso lived an ordinary life, his work ethic, passion, and devotion led him to achieve immense success as a master tailor for Walter Beauchamp Tailors Inc. His infectious smile, gentle humour, and warm spirit will always be remembered. Alfonso was a loving father, grandfather, and devoted husband who pursued many endeavours diligently. He was patient, and generous with his time and affection. He will be greatly missed.

Alfonso Prezioso’s family would like to personally thank all of the staff at Sunnybrook Hospital including Dr. Alireza Zahirieh.

We would also like to thank the Dialysis Management Clinic who provided him with immense love and support during all of his dialysis kidney treatments.

Visitation will be held at Highland Funeral home, Scarborough on January 13th from 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM. The service will take palce at Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 3200 Pharmacy Avenue, Toronto on January 14th at 9:30 AM.
