ECONOMY, Emmanouil "Mike" (Economopoulos) - November 17, 1931- January 13, 2020 - Passed away peacefully in the early morning of Monday, January 13, 2020.
Loving and devoted father to Christine, Bessie and Connie.
Adoring and treasured grandfather (pappouski) to Kyle, Stefania, Matthew and Athan.
He was predeceased by his wife Koula (Kostouros) Economy and brothers Vasilis and Tassos Econompoulos (Greece).
Devoted brother to Fanis Economopoulos (Greece).
Cousin and uncle to many relatives across Canada, the United States and Greece.
Our father and grandfather will be dearly missed.
He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humour, quick wit, kindness and generosity.
Mike was born in Kandyla, Arcadia, Greece. He immigrated to Toronto in 1957. He was the owner of Maxim's and Knossos restaurants and was known as a gracious host catering to many business people, teachers, politicians, and professional coaches. He cracked jokes daily, making everyone around him smile. We will miss our comedian!
Visitation will be from 6-9pm on Friday, January 17, 2020 at Heritage Funeral Centre, Toronto, Ontario. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 11:30am at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 30 Thorncliffe Park Drive, Toronto, Ontario. Interment to follow.
