Ypelaar SandraYPELAAR, Sandra Anne - With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Sandra at her home on January 17, 2020 in her 81st year, following a two-year battle with cancer.

Beloved wife of Luke for 59 years and co-founder of Luke’s Mower & Machine Ltd., she was proud to help celebrate over 50 years in business together.

Loving mother to Mark and Lisa, daughter-in-law Alison and son-in-law Leslie.

Cherished Nana to Serena, Olivia, Nicholas, Dean, and Danielle.

Predeceased by her parents Frank and Hannah Meads, and her sister Carol (Baden) McConnell.

Sandra will be fondly remembered by family members throughout Canada, the UK, the Netherlands, and the US.

A graduate of Wycliffe College, University of Toronto, Sandra was known for her strong faith, unfailingly positive spirit, and caring nature. Through the Anglican Church she found purpose and joy participating in Christian fellowship, pastoral care work, and refugee sponsorship programs.

Together with Luke, she enjoyed hiking the Bruce Trail, travelling the world, exercising with friends, and dancing up a storm. We would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and doctors at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and Brampton Civic Hospital for their kindness and care.

Family and Friends will be received at The Simple Alternative, Mississauga on Friday, January 31st, 2020 for a Memorial Gathering anytime between 4-8 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 1st, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Christ the King Anglican Church, 475 Rathburn Road., Etobicoke.

In lieu of flowers, donations in honour of Sandra to the Bruce Trail Conservancy, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
